The scale of this tragedy cannot be measured. I feel some renewed hope whenever they find someone who is still alive. It is hard to feel like you (one person) can make a difference but as andyjohn's idea is great, that together as a group, we can make a difference.

Did you see the 4 month old baby that was found alive and very well? What a beautiful story among the pain. I have read even more sad stories like a grandfather who returned to get photo albums. He was found dead in his home with the album clutched to his chest.

The most remarkable things I see are the way the people treat each other with respect. There has been no looting, no shooting, no riots in the streets or in the long lines for food or gas. These people are an incredible example of how humans should react in crisis. Respect is key and I heard one story when a man was in a store and there were 10 bottles of water left. At first he grabbed them all, then he realized that he was robbing others of a chance and he put 8 bottles back for others to take. How many of us would have done things like that for strangers?

Yesterday there was a new baby born and his name is RAY, as the parents said he is a ray of hope in this disaster. Life does go on. Then I also saw a Japanese report on a dog who was staying by the side of another dog that was injured. He came to investigate the reporter and then went back to be with his pal. I can't even imagine what the animals are going through over there. They have no understanding of it. Maybe they are the lucky ones? I went through Andrew and saw disaster like I had never seen. It pales in comparison to what they have gone through. Our wold is on fire. We all need to pray, that is for sure.

Just got back on line after a day of power outage and knew nothing about an earthquake or tsunami. I am praying for all of the people and their families. It is heartbreaking.

I have watched some of it unfold on the news and it is horrific. It is so wide spread and so many are missing. Just another reminder that you really need to have your supplies with you at all times. You never know when an emergency will strike. If not for you, it may be for the person next to you that you don't even know. My heart goes out to those in need and caught in fear.
