Do You Remember?

Do you remember my story about the lady store keeper who was married at the time and had a little boy?

Then the little boy got diabetes type-1 and the husband refused to even help the lady with giving needles to the boy?
He simply told the wife that he would not like to be known as the father of a sickly boy! Needless to say that there was a huge argument between the two about this. The husband left her with the boy which made it very hard on the lady to take care of the boys diabetes.
I did try to help in a way but the trouble was that she was running a store of imported foods etc. all by herself. She than had to hire help which made it a little better for her.
Now I hear that the husband is claiming half the value of the store for himself. It seems that her troubles will never end.
What should she do?

What a sad story.her husband sounds so self absorbed and greedy! I think if she presents her case in court, surely the Judge will see what has happened here and side with her in her favor! Its obvious the husband only cares for himself and for money! I would take the case to court and have faith that the Judge will see what is happening here. Recently I had to go to court to fight for my son and his father was not only greedy but his intentions were self serving. Thank God after a long battle and three years later the court saw what was happening and I have SOLE custody of my Son. Praise God! I believe she needs to be open and honest and present the facts before the court and surely the courts will see the husbands negative intentions and side with her! If she can't afford a lawyer there are people who help fill out the paper work at the courts for free. I'm sure the judge will settle it with him so he can no longer come for her shop! Please keep us posted on what's happening with her ok? I feel its best she goes to court to get this settled once and for all! The judges can usually see the intentions of people and will see that he is very self serving and only cares about money. Different laws apply to different states but I believe she should be fine. Its always best to settle it legally and have it done once and for all so he can not come after the shop again. I wish her the best! I think going to court is a very smart safe and final way to settle her problem!

Judges and lawyers, ugh! I have been screwed over by lawyers and judges (divorce), and my friend has too. But I live in Las Vegas, and the legal system can be very crooked here.

My friend had to fight for her house when a lawyer overcharged her for estate work done for her daughter, and ran up his fees more than the law allowed. When she brought it before a court, the judge didn't care the lawyer had done that. We think it was collusion. The lawyer had put a lein on the property and was trying to get it sold at a "sheriff's sale" fortunately, she secured a loan and paid him off just before the sheriff's sale happened. It was fortunate, but it was unfortunate too, because the property had been owned free and clear by her daughter's father, but now she has to pay off a 30 K loan on the property.

That's awful! I'm so sorry you had such a bad expirence! I guess I was very fortunate when dealing with the judges! However I went through two different lawyers my first one did screw me! So I know what your saying! I'm glad that's all over with now!

I know so much about my friend's situation, because I rented a bedroom from her before I had moved to CA, & I helped her by keyboarding her legal briefs, so for a while, just before the sheriff's sale I didn't know where I was going to live.

Don't know what her situation is now as I haven't spoken with her for a couple years. I may get back in touch with her to find out what's happening with her.

Do we have any lawyers in our midst?

I do not remember the story, and without more information I couldn't even hazard a guess
