I did the Somae Plan and lost about 60 lbs. I think 36 lbs. is the average, including people who don't comply as well to the plan. There are no shakes. You get a personal mentor who walks you through the plan and teaches you how to eat whole foods and enjoy them. The book isn't about meditation, it's the manual for the entire program. I would call them to have your questions answered to see if it's right for you.

Thank you kennag. since this plan is being advertised here, I thought I'd ask someone who's been through it,. Thank you for sharing your experience. Knowing what you know now, would you do it again?

Absolutely. It changed the way I think about food. And I feel a lot better overall. The mentor is a huge part of your success on the plan. I'm in their little video! McKenna Gordon

I did not hear of it, I went on line, after your request for information.
first off, did your Doctor recommend this diet? They say on their site doctor reccomended.
To me it sounds like another diet plan. I feel you could do better on your own. They have their Vitamins and some kind of shake. A book on meditation, and exercises.
Yes, on their site they say you can lose "up to 36 lbs." in 90 days. That's about 3 lbs. a week. And I know you could do it on your own without spending the money for this.

Since it was being advertised, I wanted to know about it from those who've been through it. I am giving some thought to trying it. No my Dr hasn't suggested this.

Thank you for checking it out and replying. And, thank you for your confidence that I can do it, but I have lived with myself for 59 yrs, and I haven't done so yet. I've taken some weight off, but taking it off and keeping it off are 2 diferent things.
