I believe Gabby uses or used them. If I remember rightly she had some unwanted side effects with them at first, maybe eating too many or something like that. Don't know if she still uses them or if anything beneficial happened while she ate them though. I don't know if it will help with weight loss but they are pretty high in dietary fiber. They are used a lot in bread but you can put them in or on pretty much anything. I think they are somewhat similar to flax in terms of theorized benefits but they can be eaten wholeand gain the full nutritional value. Flax needs to be ground in order to get the full nutritional load from them, if they are not ground and you might as well eat a rock.

What exactly were the side-effects? I currently use ground flax often in my cereal and do appreciate the fiber content. I am hopeful that chia seeds give a real feeling of fullness to curb overeating, snacking and such.

Hi. No I've never heard of them. What do they do? Where are they from? How are they supposed to work? So many questions I know but I'm curious as to what they are. I hope you don't mind answering. Thanks! :)

Chia seeds are the same seeds used in the ch-ch-chia heads sold at Christmas time. They small black or white seeds that in 1 tbl spoon contain 3 grams in fiber, is one of the richest sources of omega-3 fatty acids and absorb several times their volume in water giving a feeling of fullness.
