I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome). I produce too much insulin, but my glucose levels are normal. I have to have my blood tested at the lab once a month and (my levels have gone from 87 to 12 which is great) to make sure that it is being controlled by metformin. I am currently on 2000 a day.
I have lost 36 lbs which is helping me control things, but trying to find a diet has been the hardest thing ever. Is there anyone on this site that has the same diagnosis as I do, who needs to control their eating habits?

I do feel so much better with taking the meds though which is good. I am sad to hear that there is a good chance I will develop diabetes but I am hoping to put it off as long as I can with weight loss and exercise. Have you had any luck with weight loss since you have been diagnosed?

Obviously I don't have the diagnosis, because my "equipment" is all wrong. (LoL!) My reason to chime in here is to share with you that most everybody on this website needs to control our eating habits.

Here is a page from an article from Mayo Clinic about PCOS: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/polycystic-o...

It tells of lifestyle and suggested dietary changes.

Even though she never said she had PCOS, reading through the symptoms, I suspect my "Jem" had it. She had (or described to me) many of the symptoms.

I pray you get a good handle on this.

God's blessings be to you and yours!

Hi. No I don't have your diagonosis I just wanted to say I'll pray for you and I hope you feel better soon. I wish you the best and good luck with your diet! Condrats on loosing weight I know that's very difficult to do. I hope you find a good diet that will help you out with your problem! God bless
