Alysa went to bed last night with a sugar of 105 now this morning she woke up with a sugar of 110! Then one night after exercising before bed her sugar was 97 then in the morning it was 197, is there a reason why they r higher while waking then before bed? It just stumps me!
Thanks and have a blessed day!! :)

I am working on the same problem. I wake up with an average reading of 110 and after working out and before eating 2 1/2 hours later, it jumps as high as 175. I am currently drinking a low carb protein drink shortly after waking up and it seems to help a little. My doctor told me to have a small snack because if you go too long without eating your sugar levels will spike. This is very common among diabetics

It is our bodies doing what naturally comes to them (generally). What happens is often called dawn phenomenon. Our livers store up energy to give to us in times when we are not consuming it. So what often happens is that we go to bed with a nice number that drops a bit in the night. Our liver will send out sugar into our bodies to make sure we have enough energy to get up in the morning to go out and forage for food. Well, now that foraging means going to the kitchen and getting a bowl of cereal and some milk, we don't need it so much. Many diabetics have this. I do, and it frustrates me to no end. Go to bed with a 117 and wake up with a 172.

It could be something that an adjustment in meds could take care of, but I would talk to the doctor about that. Keep a journal on it and make notes on when it happens with the largest increase. There might be some kind of activity that you are doing that is causing it as well.

Eating a slow acting carb can help keep the numbers down, and it will take some experimenting to find out what works for her. Don't give up or freak out.

Thats normle
If you work out before bead and you didnt eat as much as you needed to your liver will dump sugar into you blood stream.
swings of 20 points can happen just testing from one site to a difrent one .
best wishes
