This is my first time on this site.I have had type 2 diabetes for about 2years.I have lost alot of weight so far by really staying on my plan and working out like a fiend. My question is that lately I have been losing energy about 20 min into my workout and am not sure why.I eat about 2 and a half hours before i workout but not sure if I am eating the right thing or enough calories. Can anyone help?

what is your blood sugar reading after you exercise? Are you dropping? You may want to get with your nutritionist. My BS levels drop while I exercise and I sometimes get the same feeling you get. My nutritionist gave me a guide of what and how many carbs and protein I should have before I exercise.

Thanx for replying, you're sweet.Well,I don't have a nutritionalist and my insurance plan doesn't cover them. So,yeah,I should check my sugar after i workout but maybe i should check it while i am working out when i start feeling shakey and weak.

Try a fiber bar just before you work out I use them and it works for me
Best wishes and keep up the great work

Thanx for your response.Today I decided to follow the 1800 calorie diet that my doctor gave me and i had alot of energy.I ate all the fat that i was allowed to and it really helped me.And,it didnt add anymore calories to my total for the day. But,i have another question-when you eat 1800 calories a day,is that 500 calories less than you need to maintain your weight?I get on the web and see different answers and don't know what to trust.
