can someone suggest a healthy snack that I can get out of the grocery store or even a diabetic chocolate cake recipe? I am not the baking or cooking type of person.

I do the sugarfree chocolate, vanila, or tapioca pudding. I think they come in quite a few flavors you can pick. The thing about diabetic chocolate cake is the carbs, remember it will turn into sugar. Have you tried dark chocolate? Dark chocolate does not make my sugar rise as much as milk or white chocolate. But that is just me.

To satisfy chocolate cravings I have been taste testing a few different energy bars lately. power Crunch has a triple chocolate wafer bar that tastes good. It has 13 grams of protein, 10 grams of carbs. think Thin has a chocolate wafer bar that is real good to. But the last few weeks no store in my area had them. They have a chocolate toffe nut bar that reminded me of my favorite chocolate chip brownie. It has 11 grams of carbs and 6 grams protein.
Cream cheese on few crackers is a favorite snack of mine. Sometimes I add a little red pepper or jalapeno jelly to kick it up a notch.
The Kroger brand of Carb control yogurt has several good flavors.

My thing is the Atkins daybreak bars! I especially like the cinnamon bun but they have various chocolate flavors … only 2 g net carbs. I also snack on Dannon Light and Fit Yogurts (low fat). Make sure you don't have issues with sugar substitutes because I believe both products contain them.

Here are a couple for you. They have no flour and that helps a LOT when trying to reduce the carbs. I have done this with peanut butter cookies too, no flour and they are great.

Hi. I like apples with cinnamon on them . I also like sweet pears. Raw veggies are good or a sugar free treat like pudding with fat free milk. I like organges and I even like grapefruit with a sweetner that's sugar free on top. Nuts are also good.

I love the sugar free chocolate pudding cups made with fat free milk.
I have to watch sugar and fat!
They are very chocolatey, measured and ready when I am!
They come in other flavors too
How easy is that!

Cut up an apple, put in a baggy and shake cinnamon into the bag until slices are covered
Put back in the fridge until cold, crispy and delicious

Sugar free jello helps when I want OJ which I can't have. The fruity flavors are refreshing.

You could take some crystal light and make your own popcicles in the summer.

One ounce of raw almonds

Keep treats on hand at home and work. Carry some with you if you have too.
The pudding and jello taste better cold but do not have to be refrigerated
The key is to have something always at hand! Read the labels! Go shopping for you!

That depends what you want the snack to do.

If you are feeling low, then you want to eat something to bring your Blood Glucose numbers ("BG#s") up, then you want to eat something with carbs.

If you want not to raise your BG#s, buy some hard boiled eggs, or even something like celery or carrots or Broccoli.
