Hello Everyone,

I am really excited to say that I have been accepted into The Artificial Pancreas Study in Virginia. I absolutely lucked out because I live in Pennsylvania and my sister lives in Virgina only 30 minutes away from where the study takes place. I am also lucky because the lady said I was the last one accepted before closing the study. My first appointment will be tomorrow where I will learn more about it. What I know so far is that they will give me a new insulin pump to wear (which I will be able to keep at the end of the study) and a continuous glucometer. The study will last for six weeks and will also pay me a nice amount of money to do things that I normally do everyday. The study is to help them develop a bettter algorhythm for the artificiial pancreas so it is more flexible. I hope and pray that this will open more doors for me to lead to better health care.
I am looking to eventually move to the virginia area and I think this will help me to find now doctors or be accepted as a new patient down here. I just thought that I would share this good news will my fellow diabetic friends. i will keep you all posted and hopefully some of you will have some good news to share too.
God bless all,

Go girl! Best in the study. I was in a study ten years ago dealing with a drug combined with zocor for high cholestrol (sp?) and ended up the poster boy for the study. Hope you have the same fortune.

Thank you, there is always something going on somewhere. I wouldnt have known about this without the help of my sister. Sometimes it is really hard to find these things though. I am just so thankful because most studies I am not qualified for because of the many complications I have. A good way to find studies though is to join They send me email where there are studies and maybe you could qualify for one too.
