For people with diabetes, having too much glucose (sugar) in their blood for a long time can cause some serious complications, including foot and skin problems, as well as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, eye damage, and other problems.

Good article and a very sobering reality. A good reminder of why we MUST follow our treatment plans and eat right! When I get tired of giving myself shots I always remind myself it sure is better than complacations!

Thanks for this article. It tells a lot about foot problems in an easy to understand way. There is alot more to go wrong than just foot ulcers. It really opened my eyes. Especially since I have symptoms of Peripheral Vascular Disease. I will have to have my doctoe check this out at my appointment later this weel. Thanks again.
