When I know the morning will be busy, I scramble egg whites and cook turkey sausage the night before, In the morning, I put them onto a low carb tortilla, add a bit of salsa and low fat cheese and microwave to arm. It is ready faster than my coffee! I grab that and a piece of fruit and I am off!

Breakfast, said to be the most important meal of the day, is a frequent topic of conversation here on DC as well as many other support groups both online and offline. Your need for the "on the go" ideas is also a very popular point of discussion. If you look at the discussion page you'll find a search box towards the top right in which you can put in keywords like "breakfast" to find what has been discussed here in the archives.

Personally my breakfasts usually include Dannon Light & Fit Yogurt and/or the Atkins breakfast bars, both of which come in various flavors. I have to say "yummy" to the Pina Colada yogurt and some form of Chocolate breakfast bar. While eggs are a good choice, don't overdo them for the cholesterol but you can learn to use egg substitutes for omelets and other healthier egg dishes. Oatmeal may or may not be a good breakfast for you… let your meter decide.

I was never a big breakfast eater and it's important to look at the word Breakfast because it's meaning comes from "breaking of the fast." It doesn't really matter what you have so long as you have something that you and your taste buds like but also that your blood sugar levels tolerate and that can be different from one person to another.

Your body needs a combination of nutrition… carbs, fat, protein, calories, vitamins, etc. Read the labels from your ingredients and the nutritional information from recipes. You have choices… make them wise ones.

Leftovers are as good for breakfast as anything and anything is better than nothing when it comes to giving your mind, body and soul the nourishment it needs to carry your through your day.

Portion control is an important consideration for breakfast so you don't need to have a full buffet spread of food but you should break the fast every day.

I usually eat a high fiber oatmeal in the am…or a small glass of chocolate milk and a go gurt. I love go gurt…its only 2 ozs of yougurt which is perfect for me. Or I love the egg bake…we have had that for all meals. I also like eggs and sausage in muffin tins…so like a egg sausage muffin!!!!

I like the Quaker instant low sugar oatmeal, or a healthy high fiber cereal most of the time, sometimes I will have a piece of wheat toast with the cereal. I try to limit the number of eggs I have per week, cause of cholesterol, so once a week I have a couple of scrambled eggs (but I know you asked about on the go)

I keep breakfast simple by combining any number of things. Example yogurt and a piece of fruit, or a couple of pieces of string cheese and some raw veggies.

My breakfast always is eggs, 1 piece wheat toast, 1/2 apple, coffee. This is my favorite, holds me without getting hungry and energy to do my exercise of walking 5-6 miles per day.

Hi, have you tried our recipe section to the left of the page?

If you go to the section on the page that says breakfast it will give you a vareity of breakfast items. I know there are many muffins that would be great for you to take.

Also, out there if you type in the search section is a Grab-and-Go Breakfast sandwich, and there is also Low Carb Egg Mc Muffins.

Hope this helps.
