Listen to the words that they speak ...

Today was just another day, special in its own right, but made even more special because of an assortment of words.

My left leg began to swell up, causing a bit of pain, some alarm, and a bit of irrational thinking.

(I have DVT - Deep Vein Thrombosis, aka. Blood Clots of the Leg)

I decided to wait before doing anything for this simple reason, I see so much of my local hospital, I average at least three visits there a week, between seeing my doctor, and various specialist.

So waiting until morning to see my "Coumadin Doctor," prevented me from packing my "Hospital Bag."

Until my oldest son looked at the size of my left leg, compared to the size of my right leg and proclaimed, " I think that you should go to the hospital, I already lost one parent, you are all that I have left, I don't want to lose you too."

How selfish could I possibly be?
Needless to say, I packed my "Hospital Bag."

So listen very closely to the words that others may speak, once you decipher them, you may be surprised at how many of the words actually say this, "I Love You!"

My husband is on this poison. I understand about the apointments.
Most important thank you for your story. Maybe if Dave reads this he'll realize that is what I am saying when he has chest pains, afib attack, graying out, passing out, weakness, and other symptoms. You just said it with more tact.

Guardianstone, thank you for commenting.
Please do whatever it is that you have to do to get your point across.
We can be selfish at times without even realizing it, we should take other's feelings into consideration before we brush aside what they are saying to us.

We may have the affliction, but they suffer in their own way with us.
Let Dave know that you not only feel for him, but also along with him, and that it's not fair to you when he neglects his health because his health is also your health.

I'm sorry you are back to the hospital. Have you been admitted or did you get to go home? Sorry also that you lost your wife, I didn't realize. Kudos to your son for speaking up, and kudos for you for listening to the message, both spoken and implied. Take care of yourself, we need you too. Hugs.

Children are God's gift to us. They are there for us even when we don't know it.
They come to your aid even without asking.

I have 2 son's who are there for me. And at times I wish I could be there for them , both my son's have MS.

You are very lucky to have sons that look after their dad.
You are truly blessed.

I bet that cut like a knife to hear. Wow...even if they are not babes anymore, they are still our children.
