Since diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes last year, I've last 64-pounds. But, lately I'm stuck. I exercise at the YMCA 4-5-days per week. A friend told me to workout at a lower heart weight than the arobic/anarobic rate. So, I'm trying this. I lost another 4-pounds but my goal is another 25 pounds. I'm going to ask a personal trainer at the Y, but does anyone have any personal exerience?

I wasn't being honest with myself. I have to acknowledge this after looking at what I was eating since my plateau began. I cut out the two pieces of whole grain toast with organic peanut buttler every morning for break fast and substituted organic FlaxPlus cereal with 1% milk and I've lost 4-pound this week. I also changed up my exercising yesterday at the YMCA.

I really like this site and everyone here. Be good to yourselves. We commonly say in passing, "Take care of yourself," it must become more significant in our society. Health Care iin the US is only rated 37th Worldwide, not first as some want us to believe.

First of all, congratulations on your weight loss. You and I are in the same boat, my friend. I did try a trainer. It was fine at first but I found that I didn't need anyone to count reps for me and once you have a work out, you mix it up a bit and don't need one (in my opinion). Keep up the good work.

Thanks, for the reply. I drink a lot of coffee during the day, a very old habit. I should try to drink more water, I hear especially before I eat.

Well, I have been exercising and watching what I've been eating. I am a Type I and I only lost 10 lbs. I went back to this life change 6 months ago. I am not losing the weight, but I can definitely feel my clothes getting looser. So, maybe gaining muscle and muscle burns fat. Or maybe you hit a pleatue and need to increase your resistance. You may want to check with your nutritionist or doctor to see what is going on with your body because everyones body reacts differently.

IT (METFORIN) GAVE ME DIARREAH EVERY DAY. I'M STILL LOOSING BECAUSE OF DIARREAH. TODAY IS MY FIRST DAY WITH THIS SITE.

Welcome to the community Melva. We are glad to have you here. Yes, metformin is a blessing and a curse at the same time. I was out of mine for a couple of weeks and just got back on it. I forgot how annoying it can be. I get used to it in a few weeks, so I hope you will also. If not, talk to your doctor about it. It is a nice side effect though, weight loss. I will take it any way it comes. LOL

I have been stuck for over a year at the loss of 60 pounds. I need to find something to get things going again. I walk daily, I try to fit in 2-3 days of an additional exercise. What I need to really work on is my diet. I have cut many things out, but apparently, I have many more that need to go.

Yes, it seems to be a difficult balance. Diet more-exercise more. I'm not as good in not binging lately it seems.

I'm with you there. I have changed my lifestyle for the better. Now, trying to look at it in the long run. I want to lose more weight but it may take more time with persistence. I have to say I'm not usually a joiner. But, I guess I need the support of others who share this curse/blessing.

Let me give it some thought and see if I can come up with an accountability discussion that we won't get bored with.

I was diagnosed one year ago with T2 diabetes and I have lost 70 lbs. Started out the first day a very short distance, increased more everyday until now I walk everyday 5-6 miles. Seems like I was holding at the weight loss forever, but last week, continuing my walks, I have now dropped 5 lbs. So for me, it was just consisency. Good luck to you. I did not have exercise equipment, or trainer, just good pair of walking shoes and my music…
