Has anyone noticed more hair in their brush or when they wash their hair.

Two weeks before i found out I was diabetic, I went for a hair cut and my hair stylist had a fit that I had lost so much hair on the left side of my head! I really had not noticed because I wear it pretty short and messy :) After I started taking the insulin shots, I have new hair coming in like crazy, it's wild. Maybe insulin is good for your hair, who knows but very strange.

I have had some hair loss, but I'm not sure what it is caused by. However, the loss has lessened after I got my hair cut. I have several medical problems, so I'm not sure exactly the reason behind it. Most of my loss usually came when brushing my hair and not when washing it.

Now that you mention it, I did have a lot of hair loss shortly after being diagnosed. Now, not that much. I guess my body has gotten used to the medications or maybe it's because my sugar is lower I'm not loosing that much.

Do you think something for hair growth would help?

The thing about hair growth products is that once you start using them you have to continue use(and it can get very costly even when your hair grows back) or naturally you will go back to the same problem. But if your like me and desparate to have your beautiful hair back it's a sacrafice I'm willing and ready to make. My doctor and I have not explored options yet as we are working to regain control of my hormones again. But hopefully in the near future we will be able to correct this problem as well. For now I rinse my hair once a week with a apple cider vinegar and water solution and I changed my shampoo to neutrogena t-gel daily shampoo and herbal essence conditioner for long hair.

This has been going on for at least 15 years. Before I started a lot of meds.

Ihave had that problem with my hair falling out! I hate it. :( I always thought it was from stress. I don't take that many meds. And it kind of happens in spurts!

I really never notice hair loss as a diabetic. But due to some of my other medicine My hair went real fine but now is growing again.

My hair is falling out also do to other medical problems. Mainly pcos. I haven't heard of hairloss related to diabetes but anything could be possible.
