DAY 26

here I am 26 days later after being diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic. I have gone through my pantry and eleminated everything that is white, everything with sugar. I have lost 15 lbs. My numbers are slowly coming down to where they should be. I still have days when I have a really high blood sugar level so I look at what I have eaten and realize ok that has to go. my Dr suggested a 1600 a day calorie diet which surprisingly can be a lot of food if you are picking the right things. My husband continues to be the most awesome support system. He has even lost weight because of our new diet. I have enjoyed finding healthy alternatives to some of our favorite foods. when we go to the store he is right there next to me reading labels, I am so lucky to have him. the most important thing for me was to get educated and I have read everything I could put my hands on. definitely in a different place then I was 26 days ago :)

Congrats on the weight loss! Like you, I am lucky in having a helpful hubby. It really makes this hard adjustment to watching food so closely easier.

Well one of the things I know is that you can only get rid of somuch you can give up so I was and still do rite it all down and what it dose to me and cut down on the things that make me go way high.We still need to eat

I am so proud of you. I have T2 diabetes for 1 year tomorrow and I totally understand what you are doing. You lost 15lbs…awesome, losing weight is not easy as it sounds but sounds like you have a terrific support from your husband and that is so important. I too, read everything I can so I can learn more to help myself. Getting out of sight all the foods you should not have is a big step. You are traveling down the right road…
