Sorry I am late getting this one up and running. I have been sick for over a week now but got real bad as of last Thursday.
I am posting all of my numbers since Jan. 31st here today for all to see and then bring you all up to date on how I am doing otherwise.
Mon. 1/31 before Breakfast 181 then before Lunch 243 not good there.
Tues 2/1 Before Breakfast 183 didn't check it the rest of the Day. I did check my BP in both arms L was 95/64 P was 90 R arm 109/61 and P 92
Wed. before breakfast 220 and then before lunch it was 218 coming down alittle during the day now hope it keeps going that way.
Thur. Before Breakfast 182 again didn't check the rest of the day.
Fri. After Breakfast 152 Didn't check again till Sun. Sorry not feeling good and forgetting to take better care of my self these days.
Sun. After Supper 203 I have been taking my meds each day and getting lots of liquid into me. Got one thing right atleast.

Hope I start feeling better soon I forgot to check all day yesterday. I was asleep most of the day in the recliner and then running the roads when I was asked to run Ann to get her pay check and pickup her Van from the Repair Shop.This Morning I checked my BG and it was 316 I had Pizza last night only 2 pieces from a pizza that was cut into 8 sections I sent my 3rd piece to work with Bill this morning after I seen where my numbers were and also I went to the ER I haveBronchitis, Acute same as Broncial Namonia as far as I am concerned. I feel the same way as I did 2 years ago when I had it. Only this time they gave me 2 scrips to get filled. Bill is picking them up on way home from Work. One is Zithromax Tablets 250 mg 2 tablets today, then 1 each day for the next 4 and the other one is Robitussin AC 100mg Guaifenesin/10mg Codeine per 5mL and It is 5mL by mouth every 4 hrs as needed for cough. and I sure have been coughing up a lot of gunk for the past 4 days.

Here is one good piece of news in all of this gunk though I am now down to 238.0 pounds as of less than a half hour ago. Yaaaaa I am finally below 240 pounds and heading south to 150 if I can get there any day in the next year or lower if that is what happens. I will post my Weight again next Month on the Opening discussion for that Month. FEEL FREE TO POST HOW YOU ARE DOING ALSO. I WILL TRY TO REMEMBER TO POST MORE OFTEN.

Awsome! You really are working hard at it. Keep it up Lady! I will say one thing OK. I was doing great on the pills as far as my BG goes. It was the side effects that got me and had to be taken off of them. I spent a lot of time doing research
on the side effects and benifit difference between the pills and shots. It would seem that insulin is more natural to the human body with fewer side effects than do the pills. I do not enjoy taking shots, but prefer it to the side effects of the pills.

Well I went to the Dr. on Monday Valentine's Day and was told I could go back out side and back to my Walking. Since Oct. 25th I have lost 10 pounds not bad for a start. They took Labs on Monday and I got them back today so I am going to post them at the end of this post. Last posted on the 12th so here is the days inbetween then and now.
the 13th forgot to check till Bedtime BG was 312 not good I took my meds but they were late both times that day. I need to write up my schudle again to get back on track now that I got my supplies for this Month.On the 14th my BG before Breakfast it was 177 before Lunch it was137 Had been fasting for Blood work didn't get out of the Drs till 10:45 before Supper it was 267 For Lunch that day I had a footlong Veggie Delight all of the Veggies from Subway with Oil and Vinegar. and then for Supper I made Pasta with Chicken Tortillina Soup in it. Very spicey and good. I walked 1/2 mile that day.
then on the 15th forgot to check till bedtime it was 267 didn't change from the day before. on the 16th before Breakfast it was 188 then before bedtime it was 191 not bad for it being high the day before. the 17th it was 170 before Breakfast and 238 after didn't check the rest of the day and then This Morning it was 203 Before Breakfast and 150 before Supper then just a short time ago it was back up to 297 I had String Cheese for my bedtime snack can't eat that very often as my BG has gone up each time I ate it this week. Will buy and give to Grandkids and only eat 1 a Week or so.We started a Walking Calendar at Church this Month so here are my Miles walked this Month also.
1st 1 Mile 2nd 1 mile 3rd 1 1/2 miles 4th 1/2 mile 5th 1/2 mile 6th 1/2 mile 7th 1/2 mile 8th in ER didn't walk again till 13th 1/4 mile in house 14th Drs Appt. and walked 1/2 mile when I got the all clear to be outside again. 15th I ran thru the Stores Joann Fabrics, Big Lots, & Hobby Lobby and walked 2.95 miles also dropped off scrips at WalMart RX in that walking. on the 16 I did 1 1/2 miles 17th 1 mile and today 3.72 am using my walking Podometer again. Got some to replace the broken and dead battery ones.

The Vitamin D went up from 14.9 back in Oct. taking only one Vit. D 100iu a day. almost doubled they want it up to atleast 32 am working on it.

According to their scales I weight 240 pounds down 8 pounds from Oct. 25th my scales say I lost 10 pounds and say I weight 238 pounds looseing 8-10 pounds in 2 1/2 Months is very good if you ask me. I told the Dr. to take me off of the insulin and I would lose weight he said lose weight and I'll take you off of the insuling I told him if he took me off of the insulin I would be able to lose weight he starting arguing with me so I told him I was not buying insulin till August so he might as well give me another pill instead I got it and the weight is strating to come off like I told him it would. He tried to push me to go back on the Lantus and I told him and his Nurse both NO Not until AUG.1st give me a chance to get my numbers down with out the insulin If I can't by Aug. 1st I will ask for the shots myslef. But at the rate I am going I know I can fight it down before then. If I get it to stay under 200 I will not go back on shots at all.

Hello Everyone;
Well here is the last day of another Week. I took my last pill for my bad infection. They say it will stay in me for the next 2 weeks to continue to fight this gunk out of me. Ok the last time I was on here was the 8th so I will catch up now. on the 9th my BG after Breakfast was 248 before Lunch was226 It was lower than the 8th so going in the right direction, that is good. on the 10th before Breakfast it was 233 still down from after Breakfast the day before. on the 11th it was down again below 200 at 182. This morning it was an even 200 then after Lunch it was 204 so it only went up 4 points from before Breakfast to After Lunch. Not bad so far today.
I see Dr. Quin on Monday at 8:30 a.m. for both my Sugar and my infection. Hope I get a good visit on both problems I am having. Today I made both a Cake and Rice Krispies Treats for Bill. Neither one has been cut into yet. LOL I finished making them at 11:30 this morning almost 2 hours ago and still not been touched. I'm not hungry for any thing sweet but Bill likes treats in his Lunch for work. After he eats his Sandwich and Fruit I send with him, he eats something sweet for his dessert he says. He will have 3 pails in his truck with his treats so as not to have them in the house tempting me. LOL I find this helps me to stick to my meal plan alot easier and better for me. On Monday I am going to weight my self again when I get home to see where my scales are compared to the Docs. and post both on here then. Hopefully they are the same. If not I'll atleast know how much I lost from my last Doctor Visit, and will post that too.
I will not be on here Tomorrow as it is Sunday and as I am not going to Church as I am still running temps I will be home watching BYU TV on one TV or the other. That way I still get my church messages on Sunday. Also reading some more of my Ensign Magizines. Everytime I read them I get more out of them. Being sick I am catching up on alot of my Scripture Reading. I need to get my Appointments re set up for my days so as not to fall behind again. Not being able to Quilt this Winter I have been working on my Meal Plans trying to get more Variety in them and doing 2 weeks to a Month at a time. Then I check to see what I don't have in the house that I need and make one shopping list to get everything at home to stay out of the Stores buying stuff inbetween times as that makes it easier to buy junk food which I don't need or really want either.

Well got to run for now. Talk more on Monday some time thru the day or after 8 pm as that is when Bill goes to bed and then it keeps the phone from ringing before I go to bed.

I started this Post when I first joined Diabetic Connect and when I asked back in Dec about stopping it I was asked to continue it. I have found that by posting here as often as I can has helped me to not only stay on the path to better health but also it has helped me to lose some pounds and also alittle of my back pain that I have been having for years.
Back in Nov. of 1991 the Sat. before Thanksgiving I had an accident at work that caused me to twist my spine and then I couldn't work or walk very far at all. Well to make a long story short I gained over 100 pounds and my health went to hell in a hand basket. Well about 18 months ago I decided to get a handle back on my life and that included my Health too. Now I am fighting back. They told me back in 91 that by 97 I would be in a Wheel Chair and I'm not and have no plans of going there any time soon either.

Not only is my Weight coming down so our my Blood Glucose Numbers too. I told my Doctor back in Dec. I was not getting any more insulin so as to get the weight off and I am doing it too. When I hit 225 I am getting me a new Outfit taking a picture of me in it and posting it on my Profile page. When I hit 200 I am doing it again. For every 25 Pounds after that I am doing the same thing when I hit 150 pounds I am going to see how close I come to my Seinor Picture from High School. That will be a great day for me. I know it is a long trip but I am worth it and all the pain that goes with getting there.

Any one wanting a walking partner invite me as a Friend and we can go it together, no matter where we live. My church is also doing a Walking Challange for our Relief Society I am on it too. I keep track of all my walking and turn it in On Sundays to the one in charge of it. If you can't keep track of the distance just do the time it takes you to walk every 15 mins they say is one mile I found out for me it is 1/2 mile as I can't walk that fast. Laugh out Loud. I drove the route and wrote it down so I know how far my walks are. The front half of our Trailer Park is 1/2 mile from the house across the Park up and down each street and then accross the front or back of the area back to the house again. If I add the Circle out in the back half of the Park it is 1/2 mile around it. Total 1 mile if I get the whole thing in one walking session. If I want a 1/4 mile I walk the out side of the Front half only and then I have my 1/4 mile distance.

It don't matter to me if it is snowing or has snow on the ground I still love being outside. Yes walking on Sunny Days is better but just think how much faster you get done on bad weather days and then you have time to do other things you want to do. I love Cooking and freezing Meals ahead for days I don't want to cook or don't have time to cook. It makes more time for me to do other things then too.
I also love to quilt sure will be happy when I get my Quilting stuff back in the house so I have it on hand to do some more quilting for the ones I love and also for friends. I taught my slef 3 years ago now in May and love every minute of it.

I will post some of the pictures of the ones I have done.

Hi. I'm glad for you that your weight is down and I hope your feeling better soon! I know its so hard to get weight off and it sounds like your on the right track. Keep up the good work and keep us posted on how your doing ok? :)

Well I now have my Meds and that is helping I got my voice back too. LOL Can't keep me quiet for long thank God. I don't know how to shut up as most of my friends and family can tell you. More gunk is coming up but I am now getting more rest and sleep at night. I had a large breakfast this morning and 3 egg rolls for lunch with 2 bottles of drink mix one of Red Ruby Grapefruit, and the other Pink Lemonade now on a 20 oz Sprite. I also had an orange this morning. not sour so can send with Bill to work. I had the last bag as it was to sour for him LOL
