I have recently started going to a gym and when i walk on the tread mill or ride the bike my sugar levels drop. The last time I went my sugars dropped to like 75. Is there anything I can do to help with the major drop in levels? Please help it's very scary.

I am having the same problem. My nutritionist gave me a list of snacks to eat when my BS is a particular number. You may want to talk to your nutritionist or a nutritionist about your issue. Mine drops to around 60 something and yes…very scary.

I usually have string cheese, crackers before I go exercise and always carry small apple/water with me. At first, I would drop lower until I had snack prior to going. When I reach 70, I immediately get a snack to bring #'s back up. Good Luck to you and yes, to feel shaky and all that goes with it is scary, so best fuel up first…

I always exercise either right after breakfast or right after lunch, and then I have a small 1 carb serving after exercising. And I have something like dried apricots in my pocket if I get too shakey. Sometimes the drop in glucose levels makes you feel bad, especially when you first start exercising, so take it easy and work your way up gradually. Good luck!

I was told to eat some carbs before exercising. You should also have some food or glucose tabs with you always. Low blood sugar is very scarey.
