Since the weather has been really cold, I have had problems with higher numbers for fasting test. Seems problem with a leg, etc., depression sets in causing bg #'s to rise. Noticed this for 2-3 days, then as "things" quit hurting the numbers go back to my normal ones. Does anybody else have problems with pain, weather, depression driving #'s…or is it just me?

glucosamin-chondrotin really helps joint pain associated with weather changes…and no side effects! I'm a type I and the cold does not seem to directly affect my sugar level…and I agree—vitamin D is a keeper! Pain level can directly cause your bg to rise…hang in there; walk around; read a book; connect with others—find things to distract you from your pain.

Nope it's not just you. I have a lot of pain when the weather is chilly rainy, damp and cold. But, I do have medication for my pain. But, on days when I don't need the medication and the pain is not severe I will take a Tylenol tablet. And I have realized that the tylenol tablet will raise my B.S. #'s way out of whack.

Depression for me comes and goes, I have at one time taken depression medication (Lexapro), and then my Doctor told me I have SAD…Seasonal Affective Disorder. Which means when the weather is cloudy, rainy, chilly, damp and cold, I get Moody or depressed. He told me to get enough rest and to get as much sunshine as I can. I purchased a Lamp that is as bright as daylight (it's the bulb) I'm now replacing all the bulbs in my home with these Daylight bulbs.
They seem to work.

Hey, this makes me feel better that it's not just me. Weather has always affected me, my mood and depression. Guess that's one reason my Dr put me on Vitamin D as my d count was so low. I really think it has helped in the fact so far, no colds or flu in the year I have been on it. Thanks for your comment…

Hmmm, I take Tylenol for my pain because the Aleve type of drugs make my heart race. I didn't think it would raise my numbers, but I have been on it for a lot of things of late...I will have to pay more attention to that.
