i had both of my big toenails removed last month and it seems as its taking forever for them to heal. i have been doing everything my podiatrist has been telling to do and he says my toes are healing good but i am like ewwww! on both of my feet the toes are turning like a darkish brownish almost black in color. he reassured me that it is no fungus but i am like my OMG it just does not look normal and i am wondering if anybody else had their toenail removed and if they changed colors before they healed and if it took more than 4 weeks to heal? it scares me because i am a diabetic and the word gangreen (sp) which my dad had frightens me. can aybody tell me anything please/

see that is the same thing i am saying harlen from what i have read about diabetes it does not seem right to have darken toes, but he tells me as long as i can apply pressure and i can see the blood flow back through that its good. i have been thinking about getting a second opinion as well for my own satisfaction. thank you harlen.
