Congrats on the grandbaby! I guess we're getting the snow you had yesterday. Been a mess really. Snow early, then rain mid day, now freezing rain turning back to snow. I've hunkered down & made a big pot of chicken soup.

Howdy! I have made a lot of friends here over the past 9 or so months since finding this website but while some people have other people on their friend's list I have friends on my friends list. There is a difference! I actually have people that I write to through private messages as well as through the discussions and it is great. There is so much more to me and my life than just being a diabetic. Sure I participate in conversations (especially food talk) but I have real people with real lives to explore and explain. It all started from adding friends and/or making friend requests so don't hold back when you see a member's discussion that interests you. Most people here are genuine down to earth people just like you. When I found this website on Google looking for support groups, it was like God was doing the web surfing for me. LOL. We are here for you in the good times and bad. Join us!!! I may not have all of the answers but I have a great big shoulder that you can lean on. You will be amazed how easy it is to "click" with many of us. See the picture of the balding guy to the left of this text? Click on the photo and send a friend request. I will be here to answer you!

Hi and welcome to the community. You can invite people to be your friend by clicking on their photo in a post and then send them an invitation. Then you can email them directly if you like. As many have said, just jump in and join the fun. We love getting new input from new members. You never know what hearts you will touch with a post or what answers you will find if you just ask.

The best way as everyone says is just to jump right in. So far everybody I have met on DC has been helpful and friendly and very open to sharing.

I was having the same problem for a while. I had asked John C about it, and I learned that because I was using a search engine to find DC I would get sign ins adverts like that. Just slog through the ads one more time and then set your book mark, or favorites list to diabetic connect your profile page. Click on that the next time you want to log on again, and you should see "log in" in the uppe right. That should get you past all those advertisements.

Bunnycakes is right. In the nearly 2 years I've been on DC there are hundreds of wonderful, lively, friendly people, and about 3 or 4 cranks, but they don't seem to last long, LoL!

Congrats on the new grandbaby! Be careful in the snowstorm and stay warm.

Please jump in wherever you see fit. Hope to see you here a LOT!

Blessings to you and yours!

James

Hi and welcome to the community! Everyone is really nice here I pop in every day just to read new posts and discussions and a bit of a pick me up.

The best way to do things is to just jump in head first. If you see a discussion and you've got two cents to add just make a post. I'm still very new here but the people are great and very accepting of new members.
