Hi, I have struggled with my 16 year old son who refused to wear a medical id bracelet until now. He found a style he will wear (rockstar id .com). Now I feel safer sending him out in the world. We have heard a lot of talk about the ubs tags that people are buying, but were not sure which would be better. We asked the emergency people at his children's hospital what would be the most effective tag for him to be identified in case of an emergency. So far, they have said the metal tags are always a sure bet because computers are not always accessible in the field. What has been your experience with the ubs tags? Lucy8

Hey that's great , getting your son to wear medical ID…I heard the metal tags were far better for the same reason you said, sometimes, computers not available. I'm sure you are much relieved when your son leaves the house. Good Luck to you both…

Has he ever tried temporary tattoos?? If you place it on the wrist then its easier to be seen…or maybe over his heart?? I would think that the USB would be great, but only as a secondary…like you said…they dont always have time to download while in the field!

Good Luck

Hi V, thanks for your suggestion. How long do the temp tattoos last. do they wash off quickly? He is a swimmer. Lucy.

Hi now the bracelets are so cute and don't look like the med alert tags of the past. I wear one that's a heart and its small and says diabetic and under the heart on the inside states I use insulin and has my name on it. I'm sooo glad they have made these alert bracelets with style now any style you want ! They are very important in times of emergency!
