I am trying to get my sugars under control, and as you all know, it isn't easy. I am on Janumet, diet and exercise to get this done. I have been hearing that cinnamon can help with controlling sugars. Is this true? Has anyone been incorporating cinnamon into their diet for this purpose? My A1C is 10.5, so I am willing to try anything to help lower my sugars. Help????

I use cinnamon capsules every day…I believe that it helps me…I also take apple cider vinagar pills as well…I don't know if its a combo of both or not, but it's been helping!!

Blessed Be

OMG, are you kidding me your A1C is 10.5! My last visit to my doctor my A1C was 6.8 and now it's 5.5. My doctor told me to take my shot just before i eat. Now when my sugar is 100 i eat dry toast, a boiled egg and drink coffee with sweet and low and maybe some yogout. My sugar has been so good every since he told me that. Eatting low calarie foods and excercising is key to living a healthier life. Now the cinnamon thing i don't know anything about. I'm just concerned about you.

Have you tried changing your diet and exercise routine? Those will do far more than cinnamon will.

Yes, I am drastically changning my diet and my exercise routine was sitting on the couch and going to work. I have started at Curves, 30 minutes 3 times a week. I am fond of cinnamon, just wondered if it could help along with the rest of my new routine. Thank you for your response.

If your Bs is controled thrue diet it will help but if you need meds to keep your bs inline then as far as I can tell from a lot of reserch no it will not help.
You may try it and see ,It may work for you ??
Best wishes

There have been several discussions on this topic here. (click on "discussions" tab on left - type the search term in the text box with the green magnifier icon in it, and see all the diacussions with the word somewhere in the discussion)

From everything I have read, it doesn't seem like cinnamon helps, or only helps tiny bit. Don't look for significant improvement in your Blood Glucose numbers due to injesting cinnamon.

Blessings to you and yours

Thank you for your response. I will definitely check out the discussions tab. As for the "tiny bit" I will take all I can get with the help in lowering my bs.
