I'm going to start Januvia tomorrow and wondered if anyone was taking this medication. I'm type 2 since May 2010 and started with Victoza and Metformin, Victoza was too expensive so I had to drop it, tried Byetta, again too expensive but I kept forgetting to take the shot before I ate so it wasn't working out for me anyway. Now my A1C has gone up slightly because I stopped the Byetta for a couple of weeks and was only taking metformin. SO back to the subject … I read a lot of different things about Januvia and just wanted to get some feedback. Thanks.

I'm also type 2 but I'm not taking Januvia. I'm taking its sister medication its called Janumet. While taking since August of 2010 I have decreased my A1C number from 10.8 to 5.7. I don't know if that helps but if you want more information you can always leave me a message.

I have been taking Januvia for about a year. It is expensive but Merck has an excellent program to help people whio can't afford their medicine. In my case only having SS they give me the Januvia free. I have not had any side effects in the time I"ve been taking it. I hope this helps.
