I have just started testing my blood glucose and would like some input from y'all on what you guys think about my first 2 readings. The first was taken before eating and it was 114, I then tested again a little after 2 hours of eating and got a 152. How should I interpet this readings? Did my meal cause it to go up too much or was it ok? I'm waiting for a referal to go see a diabetes dietition(?sp). So in some ways since doing this blind or the hard way trying to figure for myself what is good for me and what is not. I'm also confused because a lot of what I have read leads me to believe my original testing numbers was not really that out of wack. BG was 115 and my A1C was a 6. I will greatly appreciate any input y'all have.Btw, I am not on any meds, just trying to control with diet.

Hi. Sometimes diet and excercise alone isn't enough. My treatment plan is I take a 24 hour long lasting insulin, then if I'm reading 150 or above I inject with another insulin.id talk to my doctor and see if your blood gluclose can be controled wth pills alone. For me pills alone didn't work I needed insulin. Once I got started on my treatment plan of insulin I felt soooo much better! I would discuss your results with your doctor and decide on the best treatment for your diabetes. Good luck to you.and remember to work closely with your doctor!

Well its not that bad ,anything over 145 will harm your body
It looks like your trying to take care of D with diet and doing ok but you need to tweek it out so that after two hr your not over 130 and that will take time your very lucky to know this early .
The best way to do it is rite it all down what you eat how much what your blood sugars are 2 hr after you eat.
I hope this helps
Best wishes
