I myself do not use the OmniPod Pump but I know there are some that do. I ran across this information this evening while checking out some new Diabetic sites, I do this all the time lol. But I figured those that are pumpers might like to have the information…

Insulet — the makers of the OmniPod insulin pump — has created the first earth-friendly pod recycling and disposal program. The Eco-Pod program allows pump users to return up to 50 used pods at a time for the company to either break down and recycle or properly dispose of as hazardous waste. The process focuses on reclaiming and recycling metal components like batteries while non-recyclable elements are ground down to reduce their impact on landfills. At this time, the program is only for those living in the United States.

To participate in this program, you can call (800) 591-3455 to receive shipping labels, biohazard bags, and FedEx Shipping Paks. To find out more, you can read the Eco-Pod http://www.myomnipod.com/customer-care/pod-di... or visit http://www.myomnipod.com/customer-care/pod-di... .

I hope this helps out some of the pumpers here!!

God Bless 0:o)

I would hope that all pump manufacturers would offer this service to help save our environment.

Me too Jayabee. It would be great if each company would do some recycling for each of the products they make.
