Does anyone crave chocolate?

I crave chocolate at least one week a month and I eat dark chocolate and found out that it doesn't mess with my blood sugar all that much.

I never really cared for dark chocolate before my diagnosis. I'd reach for milk chocolate or white chocolate or usually, chocolate ice cream. Now I will content myself with an occasional piece of dark chocolate when I really want something sweet, but not too often. You are right, it doesn't hurt my blood glucose levels.

I'm a chocoholic! Diabetic chocoholic-kind of an oxymoron, don'tcha think??!! :)
I eat the Ghiradelli dark chocolate squares. the 72 or 86 percent ones-one a day (sometimes 2, depending on stress!) perfect portion control and doesn't mess with my BS and good for my heart. One warning-the 86% is very, very bitter, try the 72%, much better!

The higher the cocoa number the less sugar that is in it. Now, it still has the fat, but it does hit the spot and not mess with the levels. I use Lindt 85% cocoa bars and usually just one square will do for me.
