Diet and Exercise for January 2011

Sorry I am a day late in starting this. Sorry for the interuption but Mother Nature called again. Last Month I begged my Dr. to take away the insulins as they were more than I could afford to pay with the way our Insurances were not paying.
My last one below 200 was on Dec. 13th then on Dec. 16th the next day I checked it( I was at) 219 on the 19th it was 226 before breakfast and 231 before supper it only went up 5 points. We left for Florida on this morning, stayed over night in alabama on the 19th and left for Florida on the 20th my numbers then were 207 that was down 19 points from the morning before then up to 245 on the 21st. 237 on the 22nd, 211 on the 23rd, 236 on the 24th in the morning and 286 after lunch the same day, 286 after Lunch on Christmas Day we had pizza for Supper and only had 2 pieces and one for Breakfast the next day before we headed home again and my numbers were 234 again. Didn't check any thing again till I got Home to Indiana as everything was in back of van and she was in a hurry to get home to get back to work. We had a Flat just after getting off of 75 N in GA on 82 east had to go back 20 miles to get the flat fixed and that cost $80. I had alot of gas coming home and every time it slipped out she opened the drivers window and hit me with cold air it was after 10 pm when we got into Millbrook, AL so it was all night air I got hit with. Now I have a bad cold and the flem coming out is white cloudy junk. Hope it is not Broncial Namoina. since the 30th my numbers were higher than normal but it is coming down again so I am starting to get over the crap. 30th 383, 31st 220, 1/1 it was 284 after Breakfast, 248 on the 2nd before eatting. I will check it out again before I go to bed tonight and will post it for all to see.

I have been walking all over the trailer today and now my legs are sore again. They had just stopped hurting from all of the walkign I did in Disney World. But I did have Fun the last 3 days I was there.

I would say this is mostly motivation/Emotions Thank you for joining me today and everyday this year. Hope to See everyone here, and I hope this Discussion helps us all again this year.

I have been working hard in the garden the last few days. We have had some warmer weather and we set up the beds, cleaned them out of weeds and today we started our seeds indoors. We put up a make-shift greenhouse we will use as the plants get taller. So I have been exercising to the point of soreness! ouch! Still walking the dog daily too and that is helping. My numbers are still high though and I have to admit I am frustrated a bit.

Gabby I am sorry that your numbers are not coming down for you like you want. Hopefully that will change as the garden grows. I found that when I ate what was in season my numbers droped. I have now been off of insulin for about a Month and my numbers are coming down slowly and so is the Weight. I will post my Weight on the First of Feb. and then each Month on the 1st after that. If I have lost any even a pound I will let you all know. Well I have to make Bill some Cookies today as he is all out for at work. LOL It has been just over a Month since I made him any and he finished the last ones this morning. I am making peanutbutter and Oatmeal Rasin this time no No Bake Chocolate.

Keep up the good work Gabby and I will try to call you tomorrow Morning between 8-9 Hopefully I can get thru.

We are destined to miss I guess. I have been so crazy of late and I have to admit, I don't check messages like I should. Sorry

I just had to bake some cookies for the hubby too and I tried my almond flour that I am making from the almond milk I make. They came out very thin, but taste great. No flour in the oatmeal and raisin cookies and the chocolate chip have only 1 cup of flour (less than half) so that is great. It cuts the carbs. Now I have to try that with stevia for the white sugar replacement and I might have a recipe I can share with everyone here. I am getting close.

My numbers are being stubborn. I have been doubling up on my exercise and watching what I am eating, but still they are in the upper 100's. They should be lower than they are, but I think some chronic pain in my upper body is causing the issue. It prevents me from sleeping well. During the day, it is not bad, just when I go to sleep....argh!!

Sorry it took me so long getting back on here as we had 2 Deaths in the Family this past Week. Mark Dad in Alaska died on Friday Morning and then the Mother-in-law to one of my Niece's died on Sat. I have stayed off of the internet incase any one called me as I ran out of time on my cell phone.

Now on to my numbers on Fri it was 286 in the AM; Sat,it was 222 in the AM and 239 just before Supper. the next day it was 194 in the AM didn't check in the PM. Monday I forgot to check all Day. But Tues was a surprise day for me my numbers were below 200 both times I checked. In the AM it was 178 and then before Supper it was 156. Then this Morning it was up again at 215 in the AM we will see where it is in the PM later. Thanks for listening to me today.

I have been busy helping my Friend in the back of our Trailer Park and the girls when they call me for help. Will be running for Pam this morning as soon as I get a ride into Town.

Well I got to run will talk more later if I get back online today otherwise I will see you all tomorrow Morning after Bill starts work. As the line has to stay open incase he calls when he gets to work. LOL

Thanks James for the suggestion. I was doing that last year and then got away from it and closed out my MW folder that I was using on here. LOL But any way I am online now and as long as I am on here I don't have to listen to the girls fighting all the time and them trying to drag me into their fights.
I told both they have to stop it or I will have to shut them and the grandkids out of my life till I get my numbers donw and keep them down below 200 for more than a day or two.

Here are all of my numbers since the 10 I didn't check that day but on Tues in the AM it was 178 then before supper it was 156 both times without insulin. on Wed in the AM it was 215 not good on Thurs. it was down to 205 didn't check on Fri. Sat it was 197 in the AM on Sunday it was 199 when I got up in the AM. Yesterday I was called by both girls again fighting with each other and after Lunch my numbers were back up over 300 it was 303 My B/P was Left arm 145/89 pulse was 102 then in my right arm it was 156/83 and the pulse was 98 and again this AM it was 228 over 200 again with both girls calling again this morning. They got mad when I hung up it was over an hour before Ann called me back but she did shut up about her sister Pam and Pam called about noon and told me she was sorry. She called her Drs. to see if their fighting and calling me could make my BG go up and her Dr said if you are trying to kill her your doing a good job with my numbers going to the high that I had on Monday. She said I would not hear any more from her on her sister Ann and that Tanner told her to stop it before he lost his Granny. And told Aunt Ann the same thing Pam said at lunch time.
I have been walking a half of a mile each day going to my Friend Debbies out back in the Trailer Park yesterday I walked a whold Mile as Debbie was in Indy at Drs. Appointments then this morning I drove her to the 2 in town here. so I got 1/2 mile again. I am finding the more I walk the more energy I am getting at the end of the day. Not as tired as I was so no matter the weather I will be walking at least 1/2 mile a day. On the good days I am going to be walking the full mile. That is walking toward the front of the park then down the 2nd lane to the 3rd back up to the front check the mail box and then down the 4th to the back loop walk it all the way and then walk back up the 4th to the front down the 3rd back up the 2nd and then down the 1st to our Trailer. If Debbie is gone and i only walk a 1/2 mile I go to the back of our lane up the 2nd one to the front check the mail go down the 3rd and back up the 4th then turn around and go back down the 4th up the 3rd down the down the 2nd and back to our trailer on the 1st. The othre way is up the 1st down the 2nd up the 3rd down the 4th check the mail go down the 3rd up the 4th down the 2nd and up to the trailer from the back on the 1st lane that is 1/2 mile around the front they said. One day I walked acrossed the back of the frist 3 lanes to the back loop and then up the 4th down the 3rd up the 2nd and down the first don't know how far that one was. but it was one circuit around the whole park. Boy was I tired when I got back home. LOL

My meals have been half what I ate last year and my clothes are getting looser on me now too. I am so glad that I am going to have to take them in now.

This Morning I got up and my numbers were down again by 21 points from yesterday Morning. and Up 29 points from last night. So I am doing really great with out the insulin.

Well I am done for tonight. Before Supper my BG number was 165 boy was that a shock for me. Haven't been that low in awhile. For Lunch today I had a bowl of apple slices and orange slices snacked on them all afternoon. Still have 6 slices at this time, will finish them off before bed. I had 2 bowls of Tuna Noodle Casserola made with Alfreado Sauce, 2 types of pasta mixed, 1 can of Tuna, 1 can of peas and 1 can of mushrooms. Total ate tonight for Supper was 1 cup of Noodles and 1 cup of the Sauce Mixture overtop and divided into 2 helpings.

Drs. Office called to let me know they were only ordering 2 tests a day now. So will be more careful to check at wake up time and Bed Time only. Will see how my sugar is doing one day at a time. I told them I was going to try with out insulin for 6 Months if I couldn't get my numbers down with out it I would go back on it in July then. Keep your fingers crossed that I make it with out the insulin and can stay off of it. If eatting fruit for lunch and snacking on it all afternoon keeps it down I am all for it. 165 that is a good number for me today. I also walked about 1 mile today. I walked from the trailer to the mailbox then down the 3 rd to Debbie R.'s trailer about a 1/2 mile from my trailer going that way and came back the same way as the Mail had not run yet. So I got 1 mile today after visiting with her for 3 hours.

Debbie goes back to the Dr. on the Lab results on Monday, Mark F. in Alaska is still in ICU not looking good there, and Lary McV. is holding his own this evening. No Brain damage thank God. I have all 3 on the Prayer Roll at our Church, they will be there for the next 2 weeks and then if still needing Prayer will call and put them back on it at that time.

Good Morning Gabby and everyone else too. I see we are having views but noone else posting. Please Join us here. I forgot to post the last couple of days so here we go for the 3rd and 4th;
This is going to take me awhile to post as I am fixing my breakfast as well. That is 50 ft one way to the kitchen and back each trip. LOL Fring an egg and 2 weiners for 2 slices of wheat bread and 2 tsp of salad dressing. brb Well 2 trips and alittle over cooked egg but the breakfast sandwich is ready to eat so I will wait till I am done posting so as not to get any thing on my computer and it is not a good idea to get in the habit of eatting out of the kitchen any way, can cause overeatting.

On Monday I took my meds but only checked my numbers at the end of the day it was 314 not good. Still sick so know that has alot to do with it. But it is coming down.

Tues the 4th my morning number was 224 down 90 from the night before. That is good. then after Supper it was 277 up 53 from that Morning. Yesterday I had 3/4 cup honey nut cheerios with 1/2 cup milk then for lunch I had 1 cup of pasta salad and 2 hotdogs no bread with 3 No Bake Cookies and then for Supper I had 1 cup of the salad with 1 cup of veggies french style green beans and 1/2 of my pork chop baked in BBQ sauce.

This morning my number is 214 down 9 from yesterday Morning. Still going down which is what we want. My Cold is starting to Break up really good lots of flem and crap coming up. I am breathing better and having more energy.

On Monday I walked upto the Mail box on the front of the 3rd road in our Trailer Park. I live on the 1st road about 1/2 way down it so if I walk from my house to the mail box and back it is about 1/4 mile I think.

Then yesterday I walked back to a Friends Trailer and drove her into Miami, Indiana about 5 miles from our homes and back and then walked back up to my Trailer which is probable about a half mile total. it may be futher but not sure. Will check out the distance when one of the kids come over in their cars as my truck has been inthe shop for the last 3 weeks now. I love being grounded to the house but only when I pick to be. LOL Well my breakfast is probably getting cold so I will run off of here for now.

My doc has me testing only once or twice a day, and since I am low on strips, I am complying. It is kind of crummy though, as I don't know what is happening past my AM read which is always high. I was 190. I need to loose 100 points off that and we would both be thrilled. When I get a refill of strips I will be testing more. I usually drop during the day.

My exercise has been good. I have not missed a day of walking for over 3 months now. I started a new thing called my "diabetes job jar" and yesterday I was to dance for exercise. I did it while walking with the dog. She thought I was nuts...LOL. It was fun.

I liked this one very much. Will follow it and add as I can. Talk later Gabby have to go visit Debbie in the back as she just got some bad news Yesterday from the Lab. They found Cancer in her Blood they think, she goes back to the Dr. on Monday this next week. Please keep her in your Prayers, Mary also called last night her adopted Dad was only given 3 days to live Night before last or yesterday after we talked eariler in the day. and we also heard of a Rail road worker that got hurt on the Job lost a leg and arm and may not make it either. So there are three we need to pray for Dad's name is Mark and Larry is the Rail road worker. Thanks

I will lift up Debbie, Mark & Larry in prayer for healing.

(I had been a railroad worker for a summer job while in college. Almost lost 3 fingers on my right hand on that job due to a stupid mistake I made - trying to rush. So I have a soft heart for railroad workers.)

Ok here is the numbers for to night. After Supper it was 210 and then Bill and I decided to have a piece of cake and 1 scoop of icecream 2 hours later my number was 325 I will not be eating any more cake and icecream in the future till I get my numbers back under 200 for more than a month.
