Does anyone know if there is one or two kinds of fruit juice actually good for diabetics. Most are loaded with sugar of some kind. I have been staying away from them and frankly, I miss the juice.

I haven't been testing to see if this works on me, but I've read that grapefruit juice is good for diabetics. I've been eating a grapefruit in the mornings. I hope that I can keep doing so. I need to test and see what it's doing to me.

Yes, testing is key with any food. I miss grapefruit, my blood pressure medication warns against it.

Really? I take blood pressure meds . . . I'll have to check that. I wonder why?

It basically messes with an enzyme that can lead to more of the medication being in your body. With blood pressure meds that can lead to dangerously low blood pressure.

I don't drink fruit juice either. I would rather have the fruit. What I do for that liquid refreshment is drink smoothies made with fruits. That way I get the whole fruit in a treat form. I do use coconut water (from green coconuts) and that helps keep the carbs low.

Good idea, never thought about coconut water. very interesting..

It's low carb, filled with natural electrolytes and it good tasting in smoothies. Sometimes I will drink it straight or with some aloe juice. That, however, is an acquired taste. LOL

Hi, I no longer drink any fruit juices, unless it's in response to a low blood glucose reading. My best replacements have been 1/2-3/4 cup blueberries with a spoonful of greek yogurt as a morning snack, or a small clementine orange. I have to have the orange with a meal or it will spike my blood glucose.

Blueberries do sound good, have tried small fruit juice when I took a big drop in bg and it did level me pretty quick. It's really a test trial to find what foods work and what drives up numbers. It never ceases to amaze me…Good hearing from you, I think you have some very good suggestions and I look forward to your comments. Thanks, and have a great week!!
