Snow watch!
24.5 inches (NJ) of snow, very, very windy!
Beautiful nonetheless, no complaints, life is simply wonderful!

There is also a great discussion on this that Amy did with a pre pack kit for diabetics. http://www.diabeticconnect.com/discussions/979-diabetes-emergency-kits-do-you-have-one

We are always prepared (hurricane country here) so we usually don't have to worry about winter, but this winter has been so very cold for us already. We have had more freezes this month than we usually get the whole season and January/February are usually our COLD months...break out that scarf!

Thanks Gabby for posting this. I hadn't thought of emergency preparedness before seriously.

I'm a pretty good girl scout. LOL. It is always on my mind. This is the first winter in a long time that I have had to consider what to do if the power goes out.

We have about a foot of snow in NYC too. horrible wind. We are going to stay in today. Both of us have writing goals for our respective research so that works out well. Our preparedness is mostly about stocking up on milk, bread, fresh veggies. I need to think a little more seriously about emergency preparedness. lol.

I'm glad that see that you are so well prepared.
We currently have 12.5 inches of accumulated snow, and expecting more here in New Jersey (not to mention the snow drifts, and the wind gusting up to 45 mph!).

This is really good information and is a must not only for diabetics but everyone. I have mine ready to go and just before the end of my 90 day prescriptions I take the old ones out of my kit and replace them with the new. I do that for the test strips as well so I am sure they will all be as they should in case of need. Thanks again Mays!
