I am fighting the same problem. It's scary to have these health issues and not be able to find assistance. I hope that something comes through for you. I think everyone deserves the right to healthcare. Just because we are going through financial difficulties does not mean that our health and our lives don't matter.

Have you checked with your county health district for sources of possible help? Often they have free clinics or sliding scale clinics which can do diabetes care visits for you

God's best to you

Maybe ask your local health department if they have programs you can get into to help? Health department has access to many resources! I found my free sharps container through a program they have to dispose my insulin syringes into. You would be very suprised at the programs they can hook you up with! Truely! My heart goes out to you and I thank God everyday I have insurance because I completely understand what your going through! We need help to help people like yourself! I really hope you find a program for you! Have you tried medical or medicade? I'm not sure what its called in other states but they should be able to help you. Just use what's covered under them. The department of human services can help you sign up for medicade or medical. I would look into that then all your supplies would be covered! I truely hope you find a program and id look at those two places first and see what they can do! Best wishes and keep us posted on how your doing ok?

I get mine on Ebay. They are cheaper there and sometimes you can get a really good deal. You may want to change meters. A lot of the new meters are free but have very expensive strips. Target and WalMart have some great low cost meters and strips as well.

Your situation is a common one. There are a few discussions that you could look at for some ideas on places to reach out to. Go to the discussions area and you'll find a search box. Type in key words like "resources," "help," and "free" and you will find some information on companies, programs and community service agencies that may be able to help. It's worth a few calls, clicks or visits to get the supplies you need.
