I recently heard a radio commercial here in Cleveland that our local store chain, Discount Drug Mart, now offers a selected variety of medications for only $1.99 per month.
My family and I have been getting most of our generic prescriptions from Giant Eagle Pharmacy (grocery store pharmacy) for $4.00/monthly ($9.99 for 90 day supply). I get my blood pressure and cholesterol meds now on the 90 day plan from Giant Eagle but going to check out the selection offered by Discount Drug Mart. The plans have greatly decreased my family's medication costs from the original $15 and $30 insurance co-pays. We now save hundreds of dollars per year on maintenance medications.
Note: Giant Eagle offers various FREE oral diabetes medications to its customers in our area.
Are there any other states that are participating in this kind of generic medication "war" that you know of that you can share with us??? Perhaps sharing this information with your local grocery and drug store chains could prove to be advantageous where you live.
