Is anyone having any problems with freestyle test strips? My numbers are really down yet nothing has changed but the new strips.

Gabby, Thanks for the info. I called into it and I was told that they would check into it. All I can say is TO CONTINUE.

Do you have another meter to compare it to? The other thing is that there is usually an 800 number on the back of the meter or in your paperwork somewhere. You could call them and ask.

The other thing is that maybe all your hard work is paying off right now. Sometimes it takes time for our bodies to adjust to our efforts of control and perhaps your control is getting better through habit.

I don't use Freestyle, but if they are type you have to code with be sure you have coded correctly. Then maybe use a test solution to see if meter /strips are within range. Do you journal? If you are jotting down a.m. BG #'s, what you eat, how you are feeling, how much exercise you got, 2hrs after meal reading, etc.; then you can get a better idea of wether you had less carbs, walked more, or some other reason you didn't think about. Call/e-mail Freestyle manufacturer too, they may be aware of reported problems. Also they will most likely send you some stripes to test with. Good luck!

I didn't calibrate my meter with the new strips I bought and got high readings. After correctly calibrating my meter my readings were much lower. Hope this helps.
