Like Tannersgma said she does massage therapy. I have massage theraphy at least once a month and more if I can afford it. It does seem to help. My problems is that is does not last forever. I have also used the insoles that you can by at the shoe stores. That has helped some. I look for the ones that support the areas that hurts. It does not make it go away but it does seem to help. My problem arises on those off days. Good luck with yours. I do understand and it is rought some days.
The only thing that I have found that helps is walking. If I can keep it in control it is not as bad but I don't want it to get worse. Thanks for the other tips also. I will check them out and talk with my doctor as to what will be best for me. Only regret, I should have taken better care of myself sooner but sometimes we learn the hard way. Appreciate the support.
Howdy & WELCOME to DC April!
Yes, it is really painful. How long have you been diabetic?
If you havent had diabetes ("DM") for a very long time, some say it is possible to reverse the damage done to your nerves, which causes the neuropathy pain. They claim that you must keep your BG#s in tight control for a long time to effect the nerves' healing, which then decreases the pain. It takes a long time since nerves grow and repair very slowly.
Other than that there are drug therapies which are tried using Neurontin/gabapentin and other medications.
There are other therapies too which have to do with infared light emitting diodes and other means.
Go and click on the discussions link at the upper left of the page. On the page that comes up type neuropathy in the search box there. You should find many discussions about neuropathy on the pages which come up.
Blessings to you and yours

I say the same thing every day!! The neuropathy is so bad that somedays I can't even stand on my feet. Shoes are a problem, 'cuz everything hurts my feet. I take a Tramadol 50mg on the days that it is that bad. Massage therapy helps me too. I have good days and bad days, but there is pain control to help you at least be able to function on the bad days. Check with your doctor and see what they recommend. Good luck!!
I usually do get massages every month and the therapist massages my feet too. Of, the relief is wonderful. I am looking for all those in between things that will help. If I find out I will let you know.
I have bad pain in my heels…doc said get arch supports..I did..it is still excruciating. Don't know if it's nerve pain or not but I sympathize with ya. I have no answers.
