I am having a hard time getting my blood sugar under control. I just don't know what to eat and how much. My levels are in the mid to high 200's and I take insulin twice a day. Any suggestions/

Hi.maybe your insulin needs adjusted? I would talk to my doctor and let him know what is going on. Then he might decide to switch or increase your insulin. I was having the same problem and my doctor increased my insulin five units and it made a huge difference! I called the doctors office and they did it over the phone. I really urge you to call your doctor and let him/her know what's happening with you. It made a huge difference for me! Now I'm running normal again. Good luck and keep us posted on how your doing!

Have you seen a diabetes educator or dietitian to help you with your diet?
Are you checking your blood sugar and if so, how often?
What kind of insulin are you taking and how much?

Hello and welcome
There are a lot of ways to get there for me it was to use The Calorie King
This lets me know how menny carbs are in what I eat
I right down what my bs is ,what foods I ate and how much and yes I use a scale
and cups so I know how much I am taking in then two hr after I eat I test again if my #'s are high I know I ate to much for the insulin I used
If I didnt over eat then I know I didnt take as much insulin as I needed.
The big thing is to right it all down EVERY thing.
Hope this helps
Best wishes
