About an hour or so after dinner Jim took his blood sugar was real concerned last night when he tested his blood sugar and had two very low readings,of course not the average for him, not that low. especially for him. The third was within the average for after a meal. But, I told him I would put the question out there and see what other people think.

Usually, I test 2 hours after my meal. That I find gives me a more accurate read on how my body is dealing with dinner.
I used to have issues with several tests to get a number I thought would be in line. Here is what I was advised to help with that.

Wash my hands with warm soapy water before I test.
Prick, wipe and then test. The frist drop of blood should be wiped away and test with the second drop.
If you are having to force blood out or you have to squeeze a lot, this too can mess up your reading, you want to be sure that your lancet is getting deep enough to get a good sample.

Those steps have helped me not have to test more than once at each test. Trust me, burning thru the strips on wasted testing is a bummer.

Thanks once again, Gabby, it sounds like good sound advice. You always have good advice. Nice hearing from you, again.
