Since learning a month ago that I am type 2 diabetic this whole process of learning about this horrible disease has left me so confused. Upon learning this I could hear my father saying to me while I was carrying my second child 22 years ago that I could become a diabetic later on in life. I had gestational diabetes then. This explains a lot of my symptoms that I have been having the past couple years but have ignored because I had quit smoking and my husband was diagnosed with cancer and died 7 months later. A few of my symptoms have gone away now since being on medication and changing my diet and have lost 9 lbs. However, this diabetic belly as it is called is difficult to lose. Anyone have any suggestions to get rid of this. Please do not suggest signing up for a gym as I am unemployed.

One of the major things I noticed first, as did others, was that my walking every day 5-6 miles, reduced the belly fat. Frankly, I was amazed when all I did was walk. Good Luck to you.

I find that a good state of mind helps quite a bit when it comes to loosing weight. As the others have said a nice brisk walk is awesome and I also walk the stairs daily. Of course it helps that I am on my feet walking all day. Good luck and dont let yourself get discouraged you can do it i have faith in you!

I am looking for exercises not diets as I already have cut out a lot of my carbohydrates. I do not buy anything in boxes, certain can food, and frozen meals except for some veggies.

I'm unemployed also. Lost all my wieght by taking my free walks daily. once in th AM and one after dinner. It also keeps my BS numbers in check.
Good luck and hang in there!
