I need to know of a good website that tells about high and low BS and the side effects and what to look for. My daughter's teachers have no clue about diabetes. I want to print it out and give it to all of her teachers. The nurse was suppose to do this but I guess she isn't doing her job. One of her teachers wanted to give her candy.

You might find some very good information at www.MiracleOfhealth.com

You might draw up a paper that the teachers sign saying that they won't give her candy or cookies without your approval and explaining the health consequences.

Good for you on being so proactive! Thanks to going to a very small school, everyone knew who I was and what I was (along with who my neighbors, relatives and last three family cars were). So I didn't have too many horror stories growing up. But that one teacher who decided it would be better to have a classmate kick my desk everytime I passed out, instead of getting me the candy bar in his desk, could have used some common-sense!

Howdy again Anita.

A mother's work is never over, even when it's someone else's job to do.

You wanted a good site about DMt1.
Here's something from Mayo clinic: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/type-1-diabe....
——When the first page loads there is a little link in the upper RH side of page that says "print" when you click that you'll get the entire article in a printable format.

And while you are printing handouts for teachers, perhaps you might want to take a look at and possibly print out FAQs regarding diabetic emergencies: http://diabetes-faq.com/symptoms2.html

About the candy, could your daughter take a little insulin to cover for the carbs in the candy (as long as she doesn't pig out and keeps track of how many carbs she consumes) ? Just a thought.

Blessings to you and yours
