Yep, you'll find plenty of friends here. The boat just gets bigger but no one is refused a seat. I have type 2 and take 1K of metformin plus 110 cc of insulin a day. But you know what? With our friends here and some determination, we'll make it.
Now if it's reciepes ur lookin' for then I have a boat load.

Come on down… you're the next contestant on "the type is right" … I think you'll find a lot of people here to relate to. I'm a type 2 but I have great associations with Type 1 and pre-diabetics and all kinds of types of people with all types of conditions. I will be more than happy with chat with you about the ups and downs, the failures and successes, and the fears feelings and frustrations. Anytime you want a private chat, just click on my photo and add as a friend. I don't have all of the answers but I do have a great sense of humor and occasionally say things that make sense. If it's on your mind, in your heart or soul or just want to ramble, drop a line. Trust me, I understand!!!

Another welcome to you from another Type 2. It is nice here to be able to talk, or just listen, to others going through this maze of diabetes.

Hi and welcome to dc. I have type 2 . I take two different insulins and pills daily to help control my diabetis. I totally understand your emotions now. It gets better I promise you! I remember my first trip to the grocery store after diganosis, I started to cry! Not knowing what to eat its all so over whelming. I've sence learned to really watch my carb intake! Being on insulin has really helped me a lot. Before insulin I struggled daily with terriable highs and I felt awful! Now that I'm on insulin my numbers are perfect and I have so much more energy! This is a great place to make friends and get support the have helped me through so much! This disease is overwhelming because its such a huge life style change but before you know it it all will become second nature for you I promise. Then things get a lot better! Its just getting into the habbit of counting carbs, testing 4 times a day, injecting insulin or taking your meds the good habbits must be created that's the hard part. Once the good habbits are created it gets so much easier! The things you have to do you just do without thinking of them anymore.I know developing these good habbits are hard because its such a huge change but you can do it! Don't give up! Hang in there and it will get easier! Read up on diabetes get a few books. Studying diabetes really helped me a lot! Ask questions, learn as much as you can! This helped me soooo much! There are a lot of great books out there for new diabetes! Take advantage of the resources avaiable to you! For me learning took a lot of fear away! That's the best advice I can give that's what helped me sooo much. Good luck and keep us posted on how your doing ok.

Hi Val welcome to the site. You will find so much information here written by people who are dealing with T2 diabetes. If ever I can help, let me know. There are great people here and if you search around, you will find that someone has dealt with and found solutations for anything that you might encounter.

Remember though, you control this disease, it doesnt control you. You will get the hang of it, just try not to get stressed out about it.

Hugs and Prayers ~ Cheryl
