Hang in there. You must try to get some exercise into your routine, lots of fiber and stick to a healthy diet. I have been diligent to watch what I eat and have started exercising and have already lost about 25 lbs. I didn't think I could ever lose weight but after being told was diabetic back in August, and knowing that my mother's death earlier this year stemmed from diabetes, I knew I had to do right by my body if I wanted to keep this disease in check. With the help of God I have been able to do what I need to do. Don't give up. Be encouraged, you can do it..every little step counts.

Welcome to our family/community! It is great to have you with us in order to help share both the good and bad days that you're having with those who understand the fears, feelings and frustrations that you have. From the support group you've attended, you are probably aware that the keys to control are with diet/nutrition, exercise, and medication but you should also know that emotional support like the kind we can offer will help with your motivation, education, inspiration, and so much more. It is important for me to say that while you can learn from us, we can also learn from you. I've found some genuine friendships here and I hope you will also. Please… if there is anything that I can do or say to help you, let me know. We are here to give and take advice, opinions, recipes, tricks, tips, successes and failures. Mainly, we are here for you and so very glad that you are here for us.

Howdy ladyestellereed

We are a group of folks centered around trying to control our diabetes ("DM") and to give each other information, encouragement and support in controlling our DM rather than letting our DM control us. Most of us are not medical professionals but many of us are living with DM and want to help anyone who nas an honest question.

Did you have a specific question?

Look around, get to know some of us. I've already invited you to be a friend so we may email one another if you accept my request.

Blessings to you and yours
