How do you control your blood sugar. Could someone who has been living with this illnes for along time help me to better understand? Sometime I'm afraid to eat anything. It's so hard trying to take certain foods from my diet.

Hi I'm new to diabetes but I've got my numbers under tight control now with the help of my insulin. I take a 24 hour insulin in the morning and cover my meals with a differnent insulin. Since using my insulins now my blood sugar is that of a non diabetic! Before insulin I was running 200/300 range quite often. So insulin has been a wonderful tool for me in controling my blood sugar. Sometimes diet and exercise isn't enough for certain people. My pills wernt working either so my doctor knew it was time to add insulin. I'm very glad he did now! I've had great sucess with my closely with your doctor and he/she will help you find a treatment plan that works for you.insulin has been a God send for me. So if diet, pills, exercise aren't working for you don't be afraid to begin insulin. You will be glad you did. Also I feel sooo much better on insulin than I did without it.don't get discouraged there are many options avaiable to you. Sometimes you need to try a few before you find what actually works for you! Good luck to you.
