How many of us use arts for our disease?

I have many problems (see am I cursed?). The group I go to on Monday nights use some creative craft ideas to help with depression, anger, frustration, and self hatred.
This week we created a Mandala. Colors, shapes, helpful reminders. We have tried writing, jewerly, clay, food (mini party), and many other things.
I would like to recomend creating vertural vacations for others. It helps to help others.
do any of you use anything artistic (acting, writing, poetry, painting, sketching, crochet or knitting) to help you feel better dealing with your disease?
I have dozens of things I used. Painting, sketching, making dream catchers, rugmaking, jewerly making, crocheting, writing, poetry, vertulral vacations, short stories, it helps to release anger, calms, and can help focus on our questions. I almost forgot, I created Crafters mountain. It is my safe place when anxiety or panic closes in on me.
What do you do, or recommend? Maybe something I can recommend to my ladies?

Still don't recommend Phoenix, unless your a scorpion. Then it's too boomeranging hot.
I'm trying not to curse.
Have a good time wherever you go.
Be well Brother.

I want to pick up on one statment you made above, Guardian.
You wrote "It helps to help others." I couldn't agree more!

I've had my share of "emotional challenges" over the years also. If I focused on what I was feeling I didn't get relief and sometimes got worse. When I got "outside" of myself and helped others my challenges weren't so challenging anymore and sometimes disappear completely.

Hello JayaBee:
Thanks for the call back.
About 03:00 I had an urge to write. This is the result. It came after a meeting with my Lady's.
We had missed a week and were a bit on edge. The group earlier had gone over their time and reworked the room setup. After we Talked a while we worked on a mandalla. We colored them in and answered the questions on each petal. Then went around the room and listed what we liked, wanted to change, who was our best friend, what you were proud of, and such.
We got to know each other better, and relaxed. It was rewarding, and I will do it again.
Hope you are doing better.
God's love

Sounds WONDERFUL! Glad you such an enjoyable time.

My condition is about the same, thanks for asking. Busy clearing out this mobile home to prepare for move out late Nov.

If you're asking about my emotional challenges, they're not so challenging to me anymore (thanks for asking).

Blessings! - James

When and where are you moving?
I wish I could help, but you're not that close. So I'll send you my emotional support. You know if you need to talk just call me. I'll be on DC when I can.

As to when, I pllan to leave here after Thanksgiving. I wanted to share thanksgiving with Jem's brother & nephew & niece if possible.

As to where, that's still to be determined. I have 3 places where I am most likely to end up each place has its plusses and minuses.

#1 here locally in the east bay area of SF.
——Plusses + I like the medical care I'm getting at Kaiser. I have Jem's family and friends here who have become my family and friends. The weather here is usually very nice.
——Minuses - It is expensive living here. There's the threat of earthquakes,

#2 return to Las Vegas,
——Plusses - My son and his bride (just got married early Oct) live there. I have a younger brother there too. I had lived there for 15+ years and had a life there and had many friends before I moved here. Not as prone to earthquakes as SF.
——Minuses - No Kaiser facility (closest is about 3 hrs west in Victorville CA) so I would lose the wonderful medical care I am getting now. The heat in summer. At times up to 120°f and multiple days when it's over 100°f at night. (but it's a "dry" heat. LoL!) The economy of LV is in the toilet. Since it's a desert there's a lack of water, so that's expensive.

#3 return to Nw OH.
——Plusses + Mom & 2 brother and their families live there. Sister about 1 hr away. Many extended family members. Step Dad's family in the area too. Potentially several living spaces controlled by both families. There's at least one house I know is vacant now. I grew up there.
——Minuses - I grew up there. Weather. Tornadoes happen in the area. Summer: hot & humid, winter: snow and cold can get down to -20°f with wind chills to -40°. (When I was younger I used to love the winter & snow. Now that I'm older and used to winters elsewhere, not so much. I would rather avoid driving in the snow and cold.)

I have people checking for inexpensive places to live both here and LV, I;m waiting to hear back from them, and then I'll choose where I'll stay

I'm probably about 1 or 2 weeks away from making a decision.

Hello James;
You're right. Each has it's own advantages.
I won't recommend Phoenix area. The summers are worse than ever. No jobs, and health care is poor, unless you are rich.
Good luck and good health.
God bless

If cooking is considered an art, and I sometimes think it is, then that's my refuge.

Any ideas on what might work for meat Lasania?
I know spelling. Won't have turkey this year - no money for it. Love leftovers - no cooking or planning. Just eating when I need.
I havn't decided what we can afford for the hollidays yet. It will be cheap. (or cheap).
Maybe a day of fasting is in order.

Yes it is an art.
It is, I regret, one I have no gift for.
When I cook, it is bland and has no 'bam' to it.
I can sometimes do good deviled eggs, or salads.
Thanks for the reply.
