Neurontin counterproductive.

I take so dang much medicine, mostly for heart and bloodpressure. I also take the generic for neurontin for my nerve pain. Neurontin increases my appetite like crazy!! Doctors sort of ignore that complaint and smirk as if I'm trying to make excuses for my weight. I truly don't need medication as an excuse — I'm a hungry 5'7", 180 lb. gramma with lots and lots of belly fat! Does anyone else experience increased appetite with this nerve pain medicine?

I take neurontin 4 times a day high dose. I haven't had any weight gain and it doesn't affect my appette. I hope you can get some help from your doctor.

Howdy MomKamler

I had been on Gabapentin/Neurontin for years for DNeuropathy. I was on a low dose (300, 1x/d) bur ir hadn't been effective for me. No doseage increases due to my CKD. I did not experience the hunger you mention. But we are individuals and react to meds differently,

I take a Neurontin for nerve pain, but I don't know about weight gain. My clothes are all getting to big for me. I'll know when I go to the Dr on Monday.
