I have Type 2 and pancreatitis. It definitely makes my bs more difficult to control during a flare up. I'm still searching for the right diet to control both. I haven't had much luck finding one so far.

Howdy Alenz.

I personally have not had experience but have known one or two people who have. The one who was the closest to me seems to be doing fine now almost 20 years later. He did have to modify his diet, but exactly how I don't remember now - too long ago My acquaintence was not a PWD (person with diabetes) at the time, and I don't think he has developed DM after that, at least when he was in my circle of acquaintence. Each of the articles I have linked to below, mention the possibility of getting DM from pancreatitis.

Here's a couple of articles on the subject if you'd like to read more on it:

Here's from a gov't health info. website: http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs...

And here's from the Mayo Clinic: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/pancreatitis...

BTW: WELCOME to DC, Alenz!

That is a cute child with you in your profile pic.

God's richest blessings to you and yours

James

Why Thank you, Sue! I intend to do so as long as I am able. Unfortunately in about a month I'll have to move and will be offline for a while. I do plan to be back ASAP though.

Is this move a positive thing in your life or are you having to do and not happy about it? Your presence here will be missed, but we completely understand, you have to do what you have to do. I'll pray that your absence will be brief. :)

It isn't my choice, if that's what you're asking. I would have rather stayed here. And I have moved so much in my life that "move" has become a four letter word for me!

On the other hand it does have a beneficial side that. It gets me out of this house and it may be better for my mental health not to stay here. Right now I am numbed out by "Jem's" passing.

I get my internet through a DSL telephone line and I'll cut it off probably around the 20th of the month. So it depends on where I end up going how long I will be away. The choices for me is 3 different places: either here locally (SF Bay area), or Las Vegas near my son & 1 brother, or back to Nw OH where Mom and most of my siblings are. Each locale has its plusses and minuses for me. Right now I'm leaning toward going to LV. If i go to LV i could be back within a week or two. The last few years in LV I connected to web through wifi in library.

I like DC and plan to be back ASAP

Well, I hope your move goes as well as it can, and that you end up in a place that will bring you well deserved happiness. I completely understand about the moving thing, it is not a favorite thing for me either…so you have my sympathy there. LOL
