i was diagnosed with diabetes in march 2009. my bipolar meds cause me to have sharp ups and downs with my blood sugar. i have obsessive compulsive disorder on checking my blood sugar and my fingers are sore. i check it 30-50 times a day. i am afraid if i dont check it, it will go to low or too high. when i was little i was hypoglycemic, so i know what the siezures are like when it goes to low. i just dont want anything bad to happen. diabetes has taken over my life. anyone have any advice?

Hi you can manage your diabetics and stay on top of you numbers by testing only four times a day! Remember this when you start to.obsess, just say to.yourself, wait, four times a day, look at the clock , tell yourself, example one hour until I test again, thirty minutes until I test again, sand so on. But Only test four times day . I Really think this can help you. This way you can only test four times daily and you can count down the times between each test .I Under stand ocd and if you replace doing the tests all the time with counting down the times until you can test again this will save you from testing sooo much.give It a try ok. Let me know if that helps ok.

i am down to bout 20 times a day now, my fingers were getting too bad. i have a hard time getting it in my arm. i have been to all of the drs in my town, and they just tell me its my ocd… but i know that already, so they aren't much help. just wondering if anyone else has a lot of low readings by only doing small amounts of activity?
