Welcome to the DC community. Have you been able to take a series of classes with a Certified Diabetes Educator? They will customize a daily meal plan and offer advice on exercises that are right for you. I'm not on any meds so far, so I don't know how that might affect the routine, but for me, I have 150 g carbs daily, spread out in 1-2 15 g servings several times a day. That helps keeps the bg level. Exercise also has a huge impact on my bg, and I try to exercise immediately after eating to take advantage of that. I also lost 45 pounds by following my meal plan the first year, and that alone brought the bg down tremendously. Good luck, and hang in there, it takes time to get everything under control. This is a good site for picking up tips and getting reminded about details that help. Hugs.

Like CaliKo, when I first saw 188 carbs a day, I went wow. That is quite a bit and you may be very sensitive to them if you are going to high after a meal. Generally, 30-45 per meal is a good place to start. You can reduce them slowly to get used to that reduction, but those high numbers are hospital numbers. I would suggest you talk to your doctor and see if some adjustments need to be made. It does take a while to get all the bugs worked out while we are trying to find our new treatments.
