I would like to ask everyone for there Prayer for my Daughter Nan. She went to work yesterday like normal at the hospital for she is a Nurse's Aide, and came down with a headache so bad her co-workers took her down to the E.R. dept., and since her thumbs and nose were numb they decided to do a CT scan.
Well that test showed she had swelling on the Brain, so they then did an MRI and found a Mass on her Left Frontal Lobe so they transferred her to a bigger hospital in the city of Canton.
The Neuroligist came in last night and said that he was starting her on Steroids to hopefully take the swelling down, and then do Brain surgery on Monday or Tuesday unless things change. He doesn't even know what the Mass is till he gets in there.
Of course we don't want to leave her side for very long and she cries so much, all she wants is her 8 month old baby girl that she's never been away from very long. We are all very worried and shaken up.
Thank You in advance, we appericate it.

Nan is doing really well she learned how to walk again with her 10 month old daughterr Ella, in which she is very proud of. She has graduated from a walker to a cane.
She has 2 weeks of Radiation and Therapy left, then they should do a Petscan to make sure the Radiation has killed the rest of the tumor.
Thank you all so much for caring, and all your prayers.

I went and spent the day with Nan yesterday to help her and my Grandbaby Ella for the Day. I enjoyed every moment of it My 2 Beautiful Girls so Precious to me, and I will help in any way possible. I will also take her Tuesday for her MRI on Tuesday.

Saturday I got there at 8a.m. and they were both up ready for me, I first got Ella changed to start the day, while Nan made her bottle. She gets around so well with her walker, I was shocked to see her moving her left leg I almost started crying, but didn't want to do that in front of her. I have to be strong.

Although she doesn't have control or feeling in her foot, she has a brace for her ankle and foot she has to wear to protect it from breakage. She has fallen a few times. She is definetly getting impatient and want's to push herself to hard sometimes and has to be told to slow down.

Nan is a Fighter, and doesn't want anything to get in her way, lol. She wouldn't let me make breakfast yesterday morning, she had to do it. I got everything out for her that she needed to make pancakes, bowl, dishes, pan, etc… I must say it was delicious.

I have to say my Daughter is quite the Woman, Cancer Survivor, Mother, Sister, Friend, and soon to be Wife. And we are very PROUD of HER…

All join me for a moment at the foot of the Cross for Nan.

MIghty Jesus, great healer and master Physician. We gather at the foot of the Cross to petition your will that you let the healing power flow freely whether it be through your Touch or the doctors' hands. Be with her little child as Nan proceeds through this episode of unknown reason, a reason we cannot expect to fathom. Let it be your Will, mighty God, that Nan recovers whole and strong. And soon. All power and glory and praise to you, Jesus. In thy holy name. Amen.

UPDATE; Got the Great News last night Nan get's to go home on the 23rd, we are so EXCITED for her. She has worked so hard to get this far, and is so HAPPY.
Nan went to her Surgeon yesterday and had her staples out, and he told her that
there was a part of the tumor he couldn't get out, because if he did it would have paralized her for life so he's hoping the radiation will take care of it.

We the Family would like to Thank Everyone for there continued Thoughts and Prayers.

Oh Bicker, thanks for update. You and your family have been in my prayers. Sorry Nan has to go thru chemo, but hope it will be a one and done. Get rid of the rest of the tumor. She still has a tough road ahead of her, and you all have to be her strength when she weakens. "This too, shall pass". You truly have something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

UPDATE; Nan is now in the Rehab Dept. at the Hospital where she works, I'm very happy to announce that she has a Wonderful attitude and positive outlook on everything. She is doing PT and OT twice a day.
Nan now has complete control of her left arm, although still can't move her left leg or foot the Neuroligist said it may take a few years to come back if it does at all. Although Nan is not letting that slow her down in anyway, she is using a walker
to and from PT and in her room. She is dragging her leg behind her but not letting it slow her down.
She got to see he Baby Ella for the first time in a week last Thursday it was an AWESOME reunion, I will post there picture on my pictures for those of you who want to see who you have been Praying for. The picture might surprise you for Nan looks awesome in the picture the only way you can tell something is wrong is that her hair is buzzed off.
Nan was hoping that she wouldn't have to take Radation, but her Cancer Dr. said she has to take 5 treatments a week for 6 weeks, an she's not looking forward to it she's afraid that her brain will swell again from that.
We the whole Family would like to Thank all of You for your continued Thoughts and Prayers. May God Bless you all, and Thank you for being such Great Friends.

I will continue to pray for her and all of your family. Also for her medical team. Prayer does work. God has indeed done marvelous things in my life, due to many prayers and people praying on my behalf when I was so very ill.

Kittyruth I just read about your daughter ,Nan. I will be praying for her and include her on my prayer list. With a daughter who is disabled due to diabetes with several eye surgeries and kidney disease which they are talking dialysis but we are talking Jesus Heals and that goes for you and your daughter also.

jayabee52
jayabee52 2010-11-03 19:08:57 -0500 Report

Please, Kittyruth,
don't you and your daughter rule out dialysis just because "Jesus heals".

One of the things that your daughter should have learned in seminary (I am taking for granted she did to become ordained) was that God (Jesus) CAN heal directly throough a miracle (to be sure), but often He uses people to do His work of healing (or anything else for that matter).

In my case I was on dialysis long enough to heal my kidneys enough to come off dialysis. My kidneys aren't 100% but are well enough I don't need dialysis for the time being.

There's a story that is told about a man who got caught in a flood. The water rose high enough he had to climb onto the roof. A boat came by and invited him to get in so he could get to safety. He shouted back, "I have faith that God will save me" So they moved on. The water continued to rise. After a while another boat came by and the man answered them the same way. The water continued to rise, all the way up to his waist. After a time a helicopter flew by and offered him a ladder to climb to safety. But he waved them off, so they flew away. Ane the water continued to rise. Eventually the water rose high enough and he drowned.

In heaven the man asked God why He didn't do something to keep him from drowning. God answered: "I sent two boats and a helicopter, what more did you want?"

I will be praying for you and your daughter kittyruth.

James

Your message was well received, Yes, she is an ordained licensed seminary ministry. It was encouraging to hear that you can come off the dialysis , that changed the whole picture. We were told once on the machine always on the machine. I thank you so much for your Godly infomation. James may God continue to use you. I will be praying for you.

Hopefully she will do good at the hospital she worked at. Tell them to be prepared if she isn't already getting disability she may need a lawyer to refile. When I went on it I tried and was denied and had to reapply and then I was able to get it. I had a lawyer that help so be prepared.

They started Nan on physical therapy today on her left arm and leg she still can't move them on her own. The Dr. said she won''t be able to go home she will be transferred to a hospital closer to home as an impatient for Rehab, what is good about that is it where she works so hopefully with the familiar faces it will help bring her spirits up.
She still can't see her 8 month old daughter Ella, for Nan tested positive for MRSA infection in her nose, they say most health care providers carry it and they just want to be on the safe side for right now.
What scares us is that her left foot is starting to turn in and her left leg is starting to bow. They had her sitting in a chair today for about an hour and a half and she was leaning to her left side. A Social Worker is coming in tomorrow to talk with Nan about Rehab and filing for Disabilty.
Thanks to all of you for your Thoughts and Prayers. May God Bless You All.

Being surrounded by people she kows should be a real help to Nan. Having to deal with your life being so radically changed is hard. It is so much harder when you feel isolated and in an unfamiliar place.
Doctors are learning that God created our brains in marvelous ways. It is able to make new pathways and retrain itself to repair all sorts of short circuits. The process can be fast or slow, but it is in God's time. He helps us to grow through whatever trials we are in. Although the process of this groweth can be very painful, He can provide much unexpected joy during it also.
Unfortunately I had a crash course in MRSA this year. It is widespread in the general public as well as the health care community. I am glad your hospital is watching out and taking careful precautions. How I wished to see some of my family while I was hospitalized. But a niece was about to have her 2nd child and several people stayed away rather than risk a complication. I whole heartedly agreed with their decision, and would have requested them not to come see me if they had felt obligated to come.
May God continue to assure you that He is holding you all during this hard time.

Graylin Bee,
Thank you so much for your words of comfort. The Social Worker came in today to see about her getting transferred in a couple days to Rehab. Then another Social Worker came in to sign her up for SSI, which I think is a Great Idea.
Thanks Again. Take care and May God Bless you.

I am so sorry to hear of your daughter's health issues. I will be praying for you. I am new to this community and have just a week ago been diagnosed with diabetes so I understand how difficult it is for your daughter to come to grips with her new plite. However, we must all remember that God is in control and he can take the bad things that happen to us and turn them to good. And miracles do exist and I will be praying for a large one for your daughter and your entire family. God Bless you especially during this journey.

Nan is depressed today, last night everything came for her to realize what all was going on, and it was a great blow to her. Today she lost mobility of her left arm only to move her left hand and wrist and fingers and still no movement in her left leg.
Dr. told us today it will be a long road to recovery and alot of phyical therapy. I'll keep everyone in the loop, as I get more news.

Seen Nan today her color was good and she had just got done eating and she knew everyone. She know's that the tumor is Cancer, but at this point she worried about not being able to move her left leg, she can feel it just can't move it, the Dr. said he's not sure how much damage the surgery caused at this point he is hoping as the swelling of the brain goes down that will help with her motor skills. Nan can use her left hand and arm. Her blood pressure is back to normal, but the Dr. wanted it higher so he had a Central I.V. put in today that goes in her chest to the main artery behind the heart for medicine to raise her blood pressure some to make sure the brain is getting enough oxygen, with the swelling and all.
I'll let you know how she's doing tomorrow, Thanks again to everyone.

I have had times when I have prayed so hard and so much for the same thing that I ran out of words. That is when I learn that I could stop put everything in
the Lord God's hands and let my Christain family pray for me and my family.

And that is ok. Let God take control and sometimes that is hard. But no matter what happens God had a plan.

You and your family are in my prayer and I would be blessed to put you all on my church's prayer list.

UPDATE; Nan went through surgery fine. The Surgeon came out and talked to us and the news was not good. When he got in there they found a Tumor and it is either Stage 2 or 3 Cancer we will find out for sure in a couple weeks. He also said he didn't know if surgery and removal of the tumor caused any Brain damage, we should know in the next few days as she awakens. The surgeon also told us the tumor may grow back over time. Thank You all so much for your Thoughts and Prayers, and if you don't mind could you continue your Prayers for Nan.
