Wow i havent been on for a long time and i think im going to start getting on more lol. Anyway i had a doctors appointment the other day and it turned out really good. They did any A1C test and my A1C was 6.1 percent which means my average blood sugar is 117 and that is only .1 percent over than what someone with out diabetes should be and that if i keep trying harder if should keep going and i think its really good and i have also lost more weight and that my first A1C test was like at 8.1 percent and so it really has gone down and i am very happy about that and after hearing that at the doctors i had a really good day the rest of the day and that i also got to spend the whole day with my awesome mom!!! There was also a bad part… and that part is that my liver was isnt functioning right the last time and they had to take blood and it hurt alot and my arm is finally healing. But the docotor called my mom and said the test came back better but my liver is still not working right but has improved so that was also good. So I am happy to say that i am getting better. I am also going to start getting on morew so Im back in the community. well thats all for now so ill talk to everyone later. An thank you for your support

I'm sorry to hear about your liver. I hope everything turns out well for you. If you don't mind me asking, Are you on a pump? My daughter was diagnosed in Oct of this year and she wants to be on a pump. I didn't know you were diabetic so I'll have to tell her. Good luck and take care!

That is great! Such a good drop from your first A1c. I am sorry about your liver, did they offer you any suggestions of things you can do to help that out? You might want to ask your doctor about some diet changes that could help out. You want to keep that working well. Loosing weight is a great perk too. You are on a roll and doing great. Keep it up!

That's a good drop but a truly normal A1c is about 4.6-5.4. You are not far off though and heading in the right direction. Do you take any medications? That might play a part in your liver numbers.

ya i take metformin

kdroberts 2010-10-14 19:20:30 -0500 Report

Metformin works on the liver and it's not unheard of for it to cause problems with test results and/or problems with the liver. It might be worth talking to your doctor and seeing if there is an alternate treatment you can do for a month or so to see if the metformin is the cause of your problems.
