Hello everyone,

My name is Chasity and I'm new here to this social network. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes in 2008 during the pregnancy of my youngest daughter. I thought I was in the clear after I had her but low and behold I was wrong. I was officially diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in 2009. I've been struggling with it every since. I guess the hardest thing I have a problem with is my diet. I've always been a junk food junky. Well I guess I should restate that. I've always been a food junky. I have such a hard time trying to cut out all the foods that are so good to me. Anyway I'm excited about meeting other people like myself and maybe finally fitting in somewhere. I hope you all have a wonderful day! Thanks for listening.

Hi Chasity!
I'm still fairly new here too, but my story is very similar to yours. I also had GD with my son in 07-08 then dx Pre-D last year. I worked very hard with diet and exercise and now I have been able to keep T2 at bay for a bit. I found the best way to help with my diet was to just plain not have the temptations around. Of course I had to tell my husband point blank that that's the way it had to be and he has been greatly supportive! We hope to get pregnant again soon and will probably have to deal with the GD again but at least now we know what to expect and I have this great community for support and help!

You've found a great place! Ask any questions and let us help you on your journey!
