diet and coumadin...............

hi…i'm not much on joining groups…but being new to this…i wonder if anyone out there is watching their diet and trying to lose weight while taking the blood thinners…which you have to watch the amount if any of vitamin K ie…which broccoli, spinich green leafy veggies and a whole lot more contain vit k which interferes with the blood thinners…so anyone …lets here…thanks…malloy

Hi Malloy, Welcome to the community. I hope that you find we are a nice group to have joined.
Are you permanently on coumadin? My mom was warned to watch her K intake before her surgery in case they had to put her on it. But there are other options that are not quite as restrictive. He situation was temporary and so we curbed her salads and green veggies for two weeks prior to her surgery.

I don't recall the list she had, but I know there are plenty of low carb veggies that are still okay. Things like cauliflower, carrots, zucchini (I think) Perhaps some bean salads or pickled veggies would be a nice change. Do you have a list of no-no foods?

Yep lol I do all that lol
As a diabetic I need to watch what I eat an how much .
It is a pain in the butt ,rather this then what happends if you dont???
