Caribbean Jerk Burgers

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Servings: 4

2 Tbs reduced-calorie cole slaw dressing
2 Tbs fat-free mayonnaise
1 1/2 tsp Caribbean Jerk Seasoning
3/4 cup shredded green cabbage or packaged cole slaw mix
4 Burgers Morningstar Farms® Grillers® Vegan

1. Combine dressing, mayonnaise, and seasoning. Set aside.
2. Place frozen burgers on baking sheet. Bake at 350ºF for 10 minutes. Turn burgers. Spread half of jerk mixture on top of burgers. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes more.
3. Toss together cabbages and remaining jerk mixture. Top burgers with cabbage mixture.

Good for low fat eating and great flavor! You do get a little fiber with the cabbage and the other ingredients are mostly fat free so they are ok. To make it easier choose a pack of prepared cabbage/cole slaw mix to save on time and effort. You still get the advantage of good protein in the vegan burgers but if you are not inclined to eat them you can use regular hamburger but may I suggest a very lean cut. Calories are averaging about 250 and the carb count is 40 grams or almost three servings.

Eat up!

…sounds yummy, and a bit more interesting than usual burgers. But we'll be trying it on turkey burgers. Haven't done the veggy burgers since they first appeared, and my family and I didn't care for them. Thanks for the recipe idea Danielle!

Sounds tasty and easy! Would be good on turkey or chicken burgers too I'd bet.
